This is the knife they should have used. LOL The current model Lamson 10" chef knife. I wanted to get this for my kitchen but can’t justify the plus $100 price tag. Very nice high quality knife though. LOL
Agreed. They should have gone with either a 12 inch or a 10 inch blade. The 8inch blade is just too stubby for me.

The knife for the new film looks just like the h20 knife but shorter.
That’s neat man! But I agree, I wish they used a longer knife.
Just want to remind everyone that someone complained to producers that Michael’s knife was too small and their response was “wait until the movie”, so it is entirely possible that this is not Michaels knife, Laurie uses it in an action sequence, or maybe that he uses it for a particular scene and not the entire movie.

Ah, I hadn’t heard about that, but I was considering it. I began assuming it Michael’s after everybody said it was his. I just figured there was some information on that post I missed.
I think its his for sure. Going by the trailer and the recent still shots, its the same knife in his hands! I think they just meant that due to the storyline, character portrayal and overall feel that he can be scary enough without having to have an 18” knife.
Ill be producing replicas of this knife soon! I had just recently bought this knife and actually spent the time hunting it down prior to actually knowing what model knife was used.
Im sure some of you had purchased a classic version of the knife from me in the past and if so, you can expect the same level of quality with this newer version as well!
That’s awesome news too hear. 
It’s funny that this company offers 10" versions of the exact same knife. I’m sure either one will be fitting for the movie, but you can always buy the 10" for your costumes.
Lets remember that Myers kills only two people with a knife in the original movie.

I actually like the 14" knife use in H20. It gave Michael almost the look of the 6 year old Michael standing outside the house with the large knife in his hand.
I’ve been trying to research the knife for the new Halloween and I’ve seen that it was a Henckels Chef knife which I looked up and it resembles it…if it’s different please let me know thanks.

There were 3 different knives I believe
There was. There was the crusty old one Michael stole from the lady in the pink robe, there was this Henckels one, and then there was the classic 78 style knife that Michael got from the babysitter.
