This is such a sick idea but I live in Texas so if it ever happened…anyways what would we call it? Hallow-con? The Community of M-M.net?
I kind of like Loomis’ Patients Get Together…that’d be kinda freaky haha
There are probably plaenty of places to do this in the raleigh, greensboro, charlotte area. Lots of little halls and convention type place and tons of hotels. Im supprised at the amount of people on here in NC and GA now. The numbers have grown drastically in the few years ive been a member here. id be down for coming! Im in the charlotte area.
Heck we could plan one for people in NC and if anybody else wants to come join in we could do it in the raleigh area so its close to VA and more East Coast centered :finga: :finga: :finga:
I agree with this; the 30 Anniversary Halloween Con only brought in 1500 guests and that was for Halloween. I think a little table at an event would do just fine. Hell, it’s cheaper than renting out a hall and only getting 10 people.
Raliegh works for me as far as NC goes, I’m at Bragg so I’m not far from Raliegh.
i dont wanna be the one who plans everything out…first off i’m only 20yrs old if i go asking places to rent out a place they wont take me seriously, i’m a full time student sooo i would need help pulling it off, and i dont wanna plan it allllll out and only 5 people show up. that’d be kinda disappointing
well, I am in California, Northern California actually, and I would love to see something like this. The fact of the matter is though that it would have to be a combo Sci-fi/horror convention. The members of this board regardless of their location could make a strong showing in their perspective areas and buy tables. I do toy shows here and there, and alot of comic book shows, the combination seems to work the best in terms of getting people in. I just think a strictly Myers show wouldn’t have enough interest in a central place because everyone is really spread out.
BTW, it would be great to have an announcement section for various horror or sci fi conventions in all of our areas. Get a couple of artists there, or whatever. A friend of mine went to some toy convention about a year or so ago and Tony Moran was there. He got me an autographed pic of the famous “michael being shot” scene and falling getting ready to fall off the balcony. I think Tony signs all those 8x10’s with the same “Trick or Treat, Tony Moran H1” phrase. I think it cost my friend about 20 bucks or so and I was stoked about getting it.
He also took a pic with Tony which I have. I would love to go to a convention where people were selling and displaying artist made masks and memorabilia. If I hear of anything in my area I will be sure to post the info, maybe some of you guys can do the same

Also thanks to Michael lantern for good advice and info he provided me, right on dude.
I think it sounds cool
I’d really like to do this and be a part of making it happen…me and another member were talking about possibly having it at the Myers House here in NC and maybe leasing out a small conference room at a local hotel or heck…Kenny at the Myers House may even let us set up a bunch of tables at his house to trade and sale mask that would eliminate the need for the hotel conference room, who knows…does anybody have any good connections with Kenny at the Myers House we’d probably be looking at a Spring 2010 date sometime
That would be cool as hell,if it ever happens i’m there… Dean
we will surely try to get something planned out if it falls through we can at least say we tried :finga:
My suggestion to you guys is utilize MASK-FEST 2010 as your first meeting place. Certainly we want as many folks as possible to come out to the show, but you could purchase a table and already have a great show dedicated to masks to meet at. Before The HMA created Mask-Fest, we would utilize other conventions to meet up at and have meet and greet dinners, etc… I think this would be a great opportunity for your membership to feel the waters and see if it’s doable as it’s own thing down the road. Check out the Official MF 2010 website at http://www.maskfest.com for all info. Many more guests and artists will be added within the coming weeks and months. Either way, good luck on your project. There’s nothing better than being able to meet fellow net friends in person.
Take care,
E.A.
