Mask from phartman1977 very disappointed

Very new to the Michael Myers mask collecting community. Got on the forum and found a “mint” ssn George P. Wilbur h6 for $350 or best, purchased the mask for $320. Super happy to get a “mint” GPW signature mask… mint it was not! Mask came in a box with absolutely no form of protection. Not even wrapped in a plastic bag, just thrown in a box and shipped. Inspected the mask to find the slit in the back torn a good 3 to 4 inches and was repaired with glue that absolutely destroyed the hair. I contacted Scott of Qots and he said to rehair and repair the tear with a latex patch would be about $200 dollars. So I bought a “mint” mask with $200 dollars worth of damage… needless to say my experience with phartman1977 was VERY dissapointing!

In no way was I trying to deceive or sell a bad mask as i have sold and bought quite a few from members here without a single complaint. I was unaware of any “repairs” to the mask as the person I bought it from didnt tell me about any so I didnt know to look for any and I certainly didnt do any. I WAS SIMPLY UNAWARE. I took it out of the box put it on a stand and put it on the shelf.
2nd the packaging. There was no need for a rubber latex mask that was shipping literally 15 minutes down the road to the next town over to be packed as if it was being shipped out state or even hours away. It was put in a perfectly sized box to avoid any movement during its short transit. It was also fully insured for it full value

I again apologize

This prob isnt my place, but I consider Mark a friend & an honest guy, I feel I need to speak up on his behalf. Gonna keep it fairly short. Ok, now I could understand you over looking the rip in the slit, I myself have done that before. However…Mark showed me pictures, & there is no way…you could overlook the big globb of glue, that was in the hair! The hair looks like total crap…anyone could see that. As for the shipping, regardless of where its going…unless its next door, & you are able to hand deliver it, in person…a $320 mask should ALWAYS be packaged properly IMO!

In closing…I honestly do not think, that you done this intentionally, but I do feel that…with the mask not being as you said, “mint”…& also the fact that he was trusting, & cool enough to “gift” you the payment, that you should atleast give Mark a “partial” refund for the mask. It is definitely NOT worth… what he paid you for it. I think that would be the proper thing to do… in this situation, because the mask definitely needs to be re-haired.
