I’m looking into converting another Halloween mask, does anyone have any good recommendations of what hair fibre is really close to the 1975 Kirk they used, it looks very soft and silky, I think having the closest type of hair will work the best for styling it the way it appeared on screen
I think the general consensus is that the used mohair for the original Kirk.

What would you guys suggest getting as a canvas to do a conversion on besides a tots mask? I converted one of the tots kirks and I like the sculpt a lot but the mask is just way to large on my head. I’m still looking for something on the more reasonably priced end of things but I’m not seeing very many options in this hobby these days
No, but we find this pulls off the look of the fiber on screen, especially in part 2.
It was almost certainly a crepe/wool that was cheap at the time. Some people have been able to match the fiber but haven’t said what it actually is. There was also talk that it was dna tested from a 75 kirk to be Yak hair - but those fibers don’t really match classic don post hair either.
