Mask Rot Se7ensins

So I have two premium masks from Se7ensins, an H40 sugarmyntgallery version and a kills. I have never wore them not once they have only ever been displayed. Please someone tell me why is there rotting appearing on both of them by the signature part. I was getting ready to sell the kills too but now I’m holding off on doing so I don’t want to sell anyone a mask that is starting to rot.

Ya its not latexed and plastidipped on the inside .His newer versions i think hes been latexing and sealing. Masks rot unfortunately , especially not having a complete protective coating. (Just look at all the poor older hallloween heroes). They need to be maintained /cleaned as well.. Could still plastidip the inside , unfortunately wont be able to go over the whole thing in latex as it will cover up the signatures/markings but you could fix the cracks with latex then seal the whole thing with clear plastidip. Wish i had the money id still buy it off you they are sick masks. Least you caught it early. Still fixable imo. Hairdo will get a little messed but fliiping it inside out to seal it wont affect the shape. Just make sure you push out all the ears and nose so you can seal every nook and cranny. Do about three layers half hour apart for each layer .make sure you tape up the eyeholes , earholes, mouth, and nose holes so you dont leak over onto the front side of the mask. Dont use regular masking tape, get a painters tape, and whatever other masks you have i would recommend sealing. Its too bad Nick Mulapalgos concoction for a latex substitute that doesnt rot isnt used for all masks out there . Plastidip is 25 $, and can seal 4 masks a can fyi. Clean the mask with isopropyl alcohol also before you seal. You got this. Would also love to see your other masks as well.

Thank you for the response I really appreciate it. It sounds pretty easy and self explanatory the way you described it, basically I’d turn the mask inside out and get it everywhere but leave the signature part alone cause well how would anyone be able to verify it is Se7ensins work even though you can clearly tell it is lol. If I’m being honest though I won’t have enough time to do that, I’m leaving for basic training in the army in about two weeks and I’m kinda in need of money real bad. I’m willing to sell either one of them for real cheap than what they go for I just don’t know if anyone would be willing to deal with the consequences of having to plastidip it.

Damn man i really wish i had the money…gladly buy and fix it up . if you do try to fix it i should add that you should use clear latex. Well you could probably go over the signature with plastidip light coats, it is clear. Sux you cant do the whole thing with latex/acrylic would cover up the symbol/signature, but would make the mask last so much longer. Well good luck with your army endeavors .

I got the same issue with my seven sins h40! Its been two years since I bought it. I used plastidip before wearing but it peeled off from the inside. Edges started to show rot. . I’ve put cornstarch and also 303 aerospace protectant before the cornstarch.

When did you buy your mask? From the time of purchase to you noticing the rot how long was it ?

How many layers of plastidip did you do?

And what type of 303 aerospace spray did you use ?

2 years that’s ridicoulous! What does he charge for a mask?

I used only 1 layer of plastidip

So this is just a temporary protectant?

303 is recommended by mask makers like Ken Hertlein. It keeps the rubber supple and protects it from UV rays etc. It needs to be applied every few months though

Cool :smiling_face_with_sunglasses: thanks for replying. Think you should have done like 3 layers of plastidip might last longer , is that 303 aerospace OK for the front of the mask as well?

Yes 303 is fine for inside and outside the mask
