Hello everybody. I bought a couple masks recently and was just curious about mask sizing. Hadn’t given it a whole lot of thought before, because I usually just have them on display. Ordered a Creep and a Hiro, and I’m wanting to take some worn shots when they arrive. Didn’t really think about it until way after I ordered the Creep so I’m not sure what the standard size is for that one. Head measures about 23 inches, so I ordered the Hiro at 24 thinking that it would be too tight otherwise. I’ve read some people order the mask a size bigger than their head to avoid it being skin tight. Any tips from people with more experience here? The only other mask I’ve had for wearing is a Warlock, which I believe was just the standard size and fit fine. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks.
When it comes to mask size, the general rule of thumb is to get a mask that is either half an inch or one inch larger than your head measurement. So with your head being 23 inches, a 23.5 or 24 inch mask would be best.
I tried to answer a similar question about a week or so ago. Don’t forget to take into account your facial features AND the malleability of the mask. I’m going to copy/paste the tail end of my comment from that thread to save me some time from having to type it up again.

“HOWEVER: None of this takes into account your facial features. The bone and cartilage structures that make up your face can drastically change the size of mask you may need. TYPICALLY, your cranium should have the largest diameter of any part of your head. BUT, people with unusually large cheekbones (me) or a jumbo sized schnoz may need to get a mask that’s a little bigger to accommodate their, uh, extra beauty. A Jay Leno sized chin is going to have a rough time inside a 24” mask. Just sayin’. ALSO, the more a mask stretches to accommodate your facial features, the more it distorts. If you want your mask to look the same whether it’s on your head or on a stand, be sure to buy a size that’s a little bigger than you’d normally wear.
Speaking of stretching…
The thickness of the mask can play a HUGE role in what size you may need. A “thin pull” can stretch and accommodate your bean, meaning you may be able to get by with a smaller size. Whereas a mask that is considered a “thick pull” doesn’t stretch very much. If you’re buying a mask that is a thick pull and it’s even a little bit too small, well, let’s just say it’s a whole lot like male-specific contraception. It’s uncomfortable and god-awful ugly, but it gets the job done.

By chance, do you know what size The Creep typically is? There was no size options on the site that I recall, so I just ordered whatever the standard size is. Thanks again.

My head measures about 23.5 and this how my Creep looks on me for what its worth. Its snug but doesnt warp too much. I know the photo is from a distance but I was trying to minimize my eyes showing in broad daylight

It’s definitely important. I have a 24.5 in head. This is a ~23.5 NMR raw pull I’m in the process of making. As you can see it doesn’t fit super well, but it’s doable.
