Thanks for all the kinds words guys, it’s very much appreciated. JC’s stands are extremely creative and you can’t go wrong with his custom work. Scott’s stands are WELL worth the money. I own one, it’s phenomenal. I have one of my favorite mask displayed on it right now.
To defend QOTS, it’s not just material costs but time, care and effort that go into them. Yes, you might be able to buy the materials yourself and assemble one but some might not want to spend all that time and prefer to just purchase it already made and save themselves the hassle (plus Scott has been making these for a while and chances are his will look nicer).
I try to make affordable stands for collectors who want something more than a paper towel holder but are on a tight budget. I don’t personally see anything wrong with using a paper towel holder (especially if you have tons of masks and want to invest your money into the collection and not what the collection is displayed on). But then again, if you have an impressive collection and you have the means why shouldn’t you display it on something equally as impressive like QOTS or JC stands?
I see it as much of an economic issue as a personal taste issue. LSD just tries to fill in that gap with inexpensive quality stands.
Just an update (not trying to hijack this thread) but we’ve also got a new design coming soon, be on the look out
