With MaskFest 2019 fast approaching, I would kindly ask those of you who might be in attendance to keep an eye out for this POS scammer, Will “Willie” Crespo. He was in attendance last year (and even obtained multiple copies of the H40 “closet scene” masks under false pretenses) and since then has scammed many people by stealing both their money and their masks. Keep an eye out, people. Scum like this is out there, especially in this hobby.

Told people he’d covert H40 masks, and took Money off people then faded into the darkness. Class act
Yeah he was one of the first to start rehauling the h40s when they started hitting, i remember cause i was active on the fb myers.net page and i would constantly see his posts with pics of his rehauls. I even inquired with him at first about getting mine rehauled but decided not to when i saw other artists rehauls that were more accurate. Since he was one of the firsts and the movie hadnt come out yet everyone was getting rehauls by him but we now know his rehauls werent accurate at all to the film and theres better artists out there currently doing great work who are trustworthy. Since so many jumped on his rehauls he scammed a lot, i still remember him posting about either getting sick or having a personal (family) problem and that he was going to still do rehauls but people had to wait a bit to get theirs as he was dealing with his crisis. Soon after that is when he disappeared. Glad i dodged the bullet on this one.
You and I both! I was close to getting a “rehaul” by him too. Dodged a bullet too!
What i have learned through the years is while you wanna give new artists a chance and give them the benefit of the doubt, in this hobby due to its history its hard to. And its sad cause these new artists are the next generation that will carry the torch and pave the way for the next chapter but theres bad seeds out there thag ruin it for everybody. Thats why a lot of people, even me, choose to go with well established artists that have been around for years like JC, loper, jimmy falco, NAG, etc. These are artists that have a solid reputation, they wont even take deposits like JC or mirror image, they will get your mask and once its done or close to done they charge you. I would trust them with my eyes closed but some of the new artists you have to watch out and just be careful. Inquire first with others whom have had business with them, dont pay for everything upfront, maybe small deposit to get the ball rolling and AlWAYS AlWAYS pay services and goods on paypal. When the time limit to open a case is coming to an end dont hesitate to threaten to open one if youre not getting the response or updates in a reasonable manner, listen to your gut, if it feels like the artist is neglecting you open a case before its too late.
I understand artists like NAG, JC, Justin Mabry, etc taking longer to answer sometimes as they have a lot on their plate and are highly sought after due to their history in the hobby and their reputations, but when a new artist with only a year or two in the hobby is being arrogant or rude or neglecting on replying his customers, forget it, theyre digging their own reputation, what little of it they have, into the ground. If youre an artist, company etc new to the business you have no choice to give your 100% everytime if you want to build a solid foundation and respect from the collecting community, its something thats earned not given.
It was a lesson learnt the hard way for many, and I hope this human piece of fecal matter gets his.
