SO, I’ve had this theory FOR A LONG LONG TIME and just finally felt like putting it out there 
I am no Psychiatrist or Psychologist by any means, but I play one on during one of my puppet shows I do at 2:30AM in the basement when everyone is asleep 
It is my belief that the major players of Horror…Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees, Leatherface…do what they do because…THEY ARE VIRGINS!!! 
- Michael was locked away at around the age of 10yrs old, kept in a sanitarium under lock and key…
- Jason “drowned” at around the age of 12yrs old, where he lived his life in the woods for many years (ok, maybe he had himself some deer or something, but that doesn’t count LOL)…
- Leatherface was mentally retarded and treated like an object by his “family”…he was made to kill and torture, he didn’t know or understand the acts of sex, just that his family members would “play” with the victims too…what he knew of a breast was that it was quite tasty when barbecued…
Lack of sexual release can lead to aggressive behaviors because one feels shunned by society, “less than a man,” and in their unconscious and their instinct that they must procreate, reproduce, pass on their genes…the reptilian brain that is a part of our brain functions that controls the neanderthal responses (food, reproduction, fight or flight) starts to push it’s way into the mammal brain, than to the developed human brain with it’s needs for fulfillment of this instinctual force of nature…
But the chemicals int he brain that are released when sexual activity is partaken in, dopamine, is also produced by other activities…drugs, particularly cocaine, produce large amounts of dopamine (many people on cocaine become extremely overcome with sexual depravity, but are unable to carry them out in the end because the reptilian brain has been fully satisfied by the extreme quantity of dopamine received)…aggression also produces a fulfilling amount of dopamine that satisfies these instinctual urges…
SO…Michael, Jason, and Leatherface fill this instinctual sexual need that is quieted by the dopamine in the brain with aggression, it becomes inter-related to their instincts of sexual reproduction…one-in-the-same…
…and just to toss it out there, many of those killed are done so nude, in the act of sex, just after, etc…think of Michael…for instance, in H2…before he melts the face off the nurse in the therapy hot tube, he places his hand on her shoulder and allows her to suck on his fingers for a moment and then flips out and kills her…
here is some backing to my theory…

“We learned from these experiments that an individual will intentionally seek out an aggressive encounter solely because they experience a rewarding sensation from it,” Kennedy said. “This shows for the first time that aggression, on its own, is motivating, and that the well-known positive reinforcer dopamine plays a critical role.”

Researchers at Vanderbilt University in Nashville found that the same “reward pathway” in the brain responds to aggression with the release of the neurotransmitter dopamine, known to be produced in response to various stimuli.

Results showed that if men have status or sex on their minds (e.g., they are thinking about a promotion at work or an attractive opposite-sex individual), they will more quickly respond aggressively to a trivial insult. The slight seems much more substantial when a man has sex or status on his mind. Men are especially likely to respond aggressively when there are other men around to watch the situation, suggesting that much of aggression is about display, rather than self-defense.Statistics reinforce this idea; police reports show that “trivial altercations” is the leading reason for homicide. But Griskevicius warns that his work should not suggest that people are attracted to aggression. Rather, “it is all about status–the one who wins the game–he’s the one that gets the girl. And at the end of the day, if those genes are passed on, the aggressor is the ultimate winner.”
