Does anyone know what type of hair the new mask uses? If so, where can I find some? I’m thinking of touching up mine when it arrives by adding some hair to the hair line.
I think it was 100% camel. Someone correct me if I am wrong but I think I heard that in an interview with Chris Z.
It’s camel hair. But I must say, my copy has really great hair, and was glued very well, very easy to style as it’s a bit coarse and stays in place well.
I feel no need to alter the hair on mine, where as the hair on the h2 or the elrod needs some serious attention. Elrod hair is ok and all, but your not going to get an h1 or even h2 look out of that hair without welding it down with perma hold gel and hair spray. This new mask I am very impressed with, including the hair. Good stuff
I wish theyd start using camel on the h2 and elrod, that would dramatically improve the look of those
The HII and TOTS Kirk are camel. Camel sucks for DPS 75 Kirk/H’78/HII masks. A decently thick sheep wool fibre runs rings around it for styleability.
TOTS Kirk & Elrod repained and rehaired with Devon wool. Hair coloured but no hairspray whatsoever:
I can only imagine that somehow TOTS can get camel in that colour and in bulk cheaper than a longwool (similar to what is in crepe wool). Otherwise it baffles the mind that it would be a first choice.
Elrod is synthetic.
Camel hair. And camel hair is personally one of my favorite types. Hate the faux fur used on their Hospital mask. Even though Camel isn’t the most expensive hair type, it is what Justin used in the first run of Lunatics and it stands the test of time. Very easy to style and I’ve never even used hairspray or misted it with anything
Yeah the camel hair they used on the h18 is great, dont really see the need to replace it since its pretty accurate to what what used and how it looks in the film. One of the worst hairs is on the h20 imo, if they could use camel hair on the other masks i think it would be good, even if it wont be screen accurate.
What hair product is the safest to use for this mask?
I was wondering this as well. I don’t want to replace the hair on my 2018, but there are two spots where the hair is a little too thin for my liking and would like to add a very small bit (just enough to fill in those two spots.)
I would use a spray water bottle first, not too much to flatten it. Mist it. Then style to your preference of how you want it to look, then finally use a small amount of any hair spray of choice. After you are finished blow dry it and the hair will stay exactly how you like it brother!

No problem brother, hope it comes out looking exactly how you want it! Faux fur hair like the Hospital is less coarse but Camel hair holds it’s style much better! Can’t wait to see when you’re done
