I’m interested in making a small scale game in which the player is Michael Myers and goes around killing people on Halloween night. I want to be clear here that I have no experience in this arena and if someone who does have any is capable of doing this I would strongly encourage it. That said, I want to try.
The trouble is, however, it seems like the ONLY available 3D model of The Shape is the Dead by Daylight model, which is widely considered to be atrocious at best.
So, my question is as follows: would any of you fine folks in possession of high quality and accurate masks and coveralls be willing to suit up, get into a well lit room, and use polycam or EM3D or some other photogrammetry app to take high res scans of yourself to be used as a mesh or texture in a game?
If you have a smartphone you should be able to preview that if you download it. It’s a pretty rough scan but it’s an idea of what could be possible for us!
figured I’d share this.
I came across this website that allows you to turn any image of a human face into a 3D model, so I uploaded a picture of the million dollar kirk, here are the results:
unedited kirk head
definitely not the best results. Anyways I slightly made adjusted the head, made the texture white and enlarged the eyes:
not bad at all, still needs lots of work. Also the texture is super low quality. in my opinion far better than the Dead by Daylight model. Just a fun little side project
That’s leagues better than DbD, and would look fantastic on a rigged actor!
Trying to find existing coverall models and textures is a nightmare… you should add hair to that model and see how it looks! Guarantee it would go from great to near perfect!
