In these pics, I noticed that the hairline was a bit rough and the paint work seemed a bit less subtle (sideburns, new flesh on neck) as the one seen at HorrorCon, it made me think: could these be closer to what production copies will look like? We know that the HorrorCon pics were a prototype as well so I was thinking, maybe the copy in these pics are like what we’ll actually be getting in the mail this Fall?
That nose looks very pointy and the hairline is very rough but with a few touch ups can look really nice. It’s not a terrible mask, but it could be better.
I get the same vibe, to be honest. Wish we had a straight on shot with these new images, just to see how it compares to the previous images. This is what makes it so hard to decide, at least for me, whether or not to pre order this mask. Every time they show it off somewhere, it looks so different. It may look good here, but not so good here. I think if we’ve learned anything though, it’s to not go by the catalog images where they do all the fancy lighting. I REALLY want to like this mask because we finally have a pretty decent, $60 official Halloween 1978 mask, and a totally new sculpt to boot! But I just can’t make up my mind on it. Today I may say yeah I like it, I’ll get it…but tomorrow I may say the opposite. If the images were more consistent, which they are for the most part I guess, it’d be way easier to make a decision.
I’m honestly probably just going to stick with the h40 mask bc it is made from the exact mold as the movie. All these sculpts that actually get close to the real H1 mask are way too expensive for me. They should have just made the H1 out of the Kirk or Elrod or Tramer bc those were much closer in sculpt to the real H1… the nose is too pointy and the jaw is too prominent as well in my opinion. I get that it’s just a $59 mask but I don’t really understand why they did a new sculpt when they had something much more accurate already on hand
I can see where you are coming from but i find this to be a better representation of the mask on Castle. The elrod’s eyes are quite nuggy and that results in really highlighting how far apart they look. Besides, with luck this mask will require less work to rehaul especially to make it work on camera.
Those sideburns look like they were drawn on with a marker… I’m still not fully convinced by this mask, regardless of what photos I’ve seen. It has too much of a Maniac vibe, which is a sculpt I’ve never been a big fan of. But I do think this mask will be an excellent conversion candidate
That’s one of the things I actually really liked about the new H1 sculpt is the built in a Castle stretch- always really enjoyed the odd and creepy long look. Plus, if it’ll be as big as they say they’ll be, then it’ll be a lot more accessible in terms of wearability as well as maintaining the shape and look on any head
