Most Accurate 1978 mask

How would I get my hands on one of these?

Very few were made while in production. Something like 35 total. They aren’t made anymore.

You have to wait for one to pop up second hand, and you have to have a pocket full of cash at the ready. Over the last 5 years I think I’ve seen less than 10 exchange hands publically. You have to be quick on pulling the trigger when one does pop up. They go fast.

I waited 3 or 4 years, checking the various groups almost daily, putting my feelers out there, before one came up at a moment in my life when I could make it happen.

A completely stock mask went up for sale last month, listed at $3,500, and sold within hours.

The ID is quickly becoming the most prized and sought after mask in the hobby. It is also quickly becoming the most expensive.

I personally believe that for a castle stretch “baked in” to the mask, your best bet is either the PS78, ID, or Father Phantom Spectre. For no stretch, undeniably the 98 Proto. That’s as close as you can get to a true 75 Kirk. I personally prefer a stretch look though as that’s how he looks for most of the movie other than the 2-3 scenes where Tommy plays The Shape rather than Nick.

ID and proto are definitely at the top of the game but I gotta add the ultimate nightmare…this thing can also do it all :clinking_beer_mugs:

Incredible dissolve shot Hedge. You are right about the accuracy and yes…the mouth/jaw area is crucial. I’ve gotten rid of masks before that were great but the mouth/ jaw area was flawed & threw the look off for me
