Today fifteen years ago, Moustapha and his daughter Rima Al Akkad Monla were killed in a terrorist attack in Amman, Jordan.
Though Akkad may have made controversial or unpopular decisions in the series, he was still a firm believer in Halloween, as he worked on every film in the series up until his death. Here to pay respects for Moustapha, Rima and all the innocent lives taken that day. He truly was the Godfather to Halloween. It is very nice that his son Malek Akkad continued on with the series, as his father would have wanted it.
Rest in peace, Moustapha and Rima.
Time really flies by. I remember the day when I found this out on the Halloween movies website. I was still at high school and already checking out Halloween news on various websites and forums like crazy. Then this news came. It totally shocked me.
I was shocked and horrified to hear that they’d both died and also how the died as well. Moustapha’s memory lives on in the Halloween franchise, as it will (hopefully) always carry his family name.

I always thought it was a particular tragedy that he wanted to try to shed the public image of Islam as a religion of terrorists (at a high point around that time) and then was killed by Islamic terrorists, all that good the man stood for wiped out by what he fought so hard to fight against.
