Mouth slit fix

Is there a solid video or explanation on how to glue the mouth shut on a tots mask? Just pulling the lips together distort the shape of the cheeks a fair bit so I would guess just a simple pinch together and glue would not work here but perhaps liquid latex would be involved?

I have seen a couple of comments on instagram about people who have done it but it is far too vague to understand the process fully. Anyone have any success in doing it and wouldnt mind sharing your technique?

May not be the answer you’re looking for but some screenused masks used tape to shut the mouth.

Thanks for the answer I would guess that would be short term though rather than a mask you would want to get years of life from?

Depends on the mask. Which one are you trying to seal?

My tots 78 the mouth is open far too wide for my preference

I patch mine with a piece of baldcap, glued in with either “speed-sew” glue or E-6000

The mouth is supposed to be open on the 78

Like he said.

But if you insist on closing the mouth for some reason. I would use painters tape on the outside to hold the mouth shut and use liquid latex on the inside to seal it. And if you would ever want to open the mouth again someday, you can just use a razor blade to cut it open again.

Use some cheesecloth and affix it behind the slit with some liquid latex. Once dry use more liquid latex inside the hole (gap) in the mouth. I usually place it in and sculpt it with silicone sculpting tools, removing excess along the way.

Do not press or glue the lips together or you will distort the mask. Instead sculpt back in what was cut out. See my example:
