These are nice! Worth noting, olivewood is mere fan speculation. The true color is still a contentious debate in the community.
The pocket shape is actually the sole reason this community has been uncertain about Big Mac brand coveralls. Member Michael Myers 1978 found a pair nearly identical to the originals, the only (potential) difference being the possible hammer loop vaguely seen in shadowy photographs. In my opinion, these are as close as it gets. Here’s a link: https://forum.michael-myers.net/t/halloween-1978-coveralls-match/59479/1
The Big Mac’s are nice. They’re close but by no means are exactly what they were. Cuz no one actually knows.
But Like what themaskgallery has pointed out another member on here has found a pair that closely resemble the originals. Olivewood again, its just a speculated colour, it’s widley assumed to be either Charcoal Grey or Spruce Green. Yours are a great colour they just need to be dulled down a tad bit. You can do that by washing them a couple times.
Tommy Lee Wallace actually stated in video to a fellow member posted on here many years ago that they were a greyed down greeny grey.
The Big Mac’s IMHO are a great stand-in if you can’t find the H1 styled SEARS pair, I own a set of Olivewood’s which are exactly the same as yours just darker and more of an olive drab with a herringbone pattern…I’d definitely hold onto them!
i’m keeping mine until I can find the exact pair Michael Myers 1978 found.
I’m not really sure what’s being boasted here. Big Macs are not uncommon in this community. Is there something specific about your pair that separates them from the rest?
We know the brand, it’s sears tradewear. IMO It has been settled. Anyone who says otherwise is probably in denial or shock from years of swearing they’re right, imho. Michael’s pair match up perfectly, to a T. The only thing off is a possible non existent hammer loop for God’s sake
These look awesome but after seeing that Sears pair the other day I’m pretty much convinced those were the brand used in the film. Either way, even a perfectionist would be satisfied with this pair
I can relate to the perfectionist part. My old Olivewood Big Mac’s are weathered as close as i could do the BTS stills and blu ray lol. If i did the same treatment to the SEARS tradewear i think we’d have a convincing screen used pair.
However, congrats on the score, man! I love vintage coveralls. They have an aura about them, that’s for sure!
I also just for the sake of clarity, the Hero H1 pair should be referred to as Sears Tradewears, not Roebuck’s. Roebuck’s are a way later model, I don’t think they were used in any sequel either. All sears used in the series have been H1, H2, H5, and none of them were Roebuck’s. Just Tradewears and Work and Leisure’s. Roebuck’s are different
This may sound a bit on the nose, but is it possible that the hammer loop (if there was one) was cut off? Also keep in mind that in the school yard scene when Michael puts his arms on the bully, you can see a small hole near the elbow, so to me that indicates that the coveralls used in H1 may have been used before filming, and therefore, the chance that the hammer loop was missing (again, if there was one) is more likely.
I mean, it’s definitely possible. I’m one who believes the coveralls were borrowed used or bought second hand. I’ll sift though pics and check, but to my knowledge there aren’t any shots where it’s directly visible
