My first attempt at some Myers rehauls

Hey everyone! New here and just wanted to share some rehauls I did of the TOTS 78’ mask. I went with the hero mask and stunt mask #1 (always kinda loved how creepy the larger eyeholes were). These are my first rehauls, I’m used to painting models so it was definitely a learning curve. I’m happy with how they turned out, but I’ve still got my gripes with them.

Ya its tough to nail as simple as it is but you are in the ballpark . Did you do any clear coating /plasti dip to save paint job? The weathering is nice on both.

Thank you very much! Yep I used plastidip to seal it up, but yeah it’s really something you can fuss with for hours and hours, but sometime you gotta call it done.

I also came from model building (Revell cars, architectural models) and it’s different.

I tried to do my car models perfectly, but I found the opposite approach works best for Myers masks- kind of working loosely and somewhat sloppily to avoid it looking “too perfect”.

I love rehauling TOTS masks, I think yours look pretty good.
They also always look waaaay better in some dark with shadows. The real original mask even looked less scary in full light, so it’s a hard balance of adding shadows directly with paint vs. actually using shadows.
