the dye base color came out great bro about the 2 spots you mentioned that didnt absorb the color no worries.
If i have the same thing its nothing to sweat because the black fabric paint for the oil stains will cover that,
I just dry brush a little more of the thinned paint over that area

Yeah after seeing them washed and dried and I’m not worried about it anymore. I’ll post some pics of me in the final costume soon
One bottle the whole thing is enough. You only need enough water to cover the suit while dying&/stirring it.
If you want them darker you can add 2-3 tablespoons of the powdered black dye. it comes in boxes like tintex/rit/dylon.
If they are too blue like bright baby blue,or a dark navy, or too much blue is showing through,
then you can toss in a bottle of Rit Dyemore “Frost grey” its a lighter grey like H6 it will cover any blue.
These are H5 Sears in 40r. I did only one dyebath for these. This is one full bottle of light “Frost grey” and one
full bottle of Rit “Charcoal grey” I let them soak for maybe 3-4 hours.
You can leave them to soak overnight, they wont go too dark its just up to you. when they look right take them out.
They will look darker when wet, some of the dye will rinse out so dont pull them too early if your scared theyre too dark
