My home made spray booth. Lol.

This is my first go at a conversion. Got this Darren Perks 99 Kirk blank for a low price. It isn’t the best features wise, bit washed out but the pull is superb. Lovely soft, thin latex. So I thought ‘sod it!’ I’ll have a go at this myself. Not that bothered if it goes tits. It’s a learning curve right! ;0) Have cut the eyes ( not as easy as you’d think ) and slit the mouth so far and now I’m gunna give him some white before the missus gets back from work!

cool idea but yikes! not really sure i would be spraying any paint and sucking it up in my oven range hood.

Mate she sets everything on fire anyway!

Does anybody know of anywhere in the UK I can get some hair?

For my 1st conversion. Cheers.

Forgot to say. How much would I need and what’s the best way to apply ?
Cheers again.

Yeah I would certainly attach some kind of membrane over your vent to reduce the amount of latex and paints that will get sucked up. That could make for a dangerous situation. If not right now, over time that paint will accumulate and cause problems. Maybe some pantyhose or cheese cloth or something? Anything to keep that paint outta there. Really can’t help with the hair. Good luck with the rest of the conversion! Lookin good so far!

Pshhhhh. Hahahaha!

Good work!

Hah! Nice. I use a large cardboard box that I keep folded in my garage for when I want to spray paint things.

Dazhulme, Nice job painting the mask! I think my wife would kill me if I attempted painting something in the kitchen.

I have an Iwata Eclipse airbrush I use to paint model kits so I understand about this. I spray acrylics in a back room and just keep the window open where I’m spraying. It’s not the best situation but the acrylics I use are non-toxic and the door to the room stays closed.

BTW, what type of paint(s) are you using on the mask?

Michael.

Bro I used to order my hair from Coppermoose but its in the US. I since found there are so many UK sellers who sell hair for cheap. If you google “Hair fibres sale UK” you will find lots of websites based in the UK selling fibres very cheap. Can gat mohair, camel, lama, you name it  Good luck and great job on your first conversion, looks excellent

Killer to hear there’s a 99 Darren Perks blank floating around out there! is yours numbered by chance? I wish I would have saw this thread earlier I would have sent you pics on the eyecuts which on mine were done by AHG, but at least I can help you with hairline. If you need more let me know
