I just got in the mail the original dvd realese of Halloween and it is still in the rapper. I was just wondering if i should keep it sealed and it would gain in value or it does not matter? just wondering.
are these even worth anything in the first place ?

Not sure about being worth anything right now, but wait. I say this because, the newer versions of this movie, including the bluray, have been altered. You’ll notice that alot of the blue back lighting has been removed in the updated versions. That’s not how JC or DC, intended it to be. I to have the same DVD that you’re referring to, and when I want to watch the original HalloweeN, I watch that instead of the BluRay version. Only reason why I have the BR version, is because of the documentary “A Cut Above”. So hold on to this copy.
Dude, I’d hold onto it if it’s an original release. As stated before, the other releases have been altered from their original form… Your copy is unaltered and EXACTLY as Carpenter intended for it to be. I’d hold onto it and keep it in the original packaging and see what the future holds! 
thanks i decided to open it but will keep it in excellent condition. I just realized that the 2007 release is basically the 1999 release with alturnate cover.
does any one know if the 25th annavarsery release is worth anything?
