This looks great! Is this just acrylic paint? Is there any way you could sort of make a tutorial to do something like this?

Yep! Just acrylic. I applied the milky white with a makeup sponge, covered the entirety of the original paint. I then mixed a dirty brown and black mixture to use for the weathering and hand painted in the creases and cracks. I drybrushed a bit more of this mixture in places to get the faded look I wanted in certain areas. At the neck I did a mixture of drybrushing, rubbing, and sponge work. I also used weathering powders for the rotted latex in spots as well. I sealed it with plasti-dip.

Did you spray the plasti dip or brush it on? How did you protect the hair?

I sprayed it on. I taped the seam of the hair and covered the back of the head with a plastic bag. It worked out pretty great.

Thanks man! I’m did the first for myself and then people started contacting me to do theirs, I figured I would help people get the mask they want. I’m hoping to rehair mine, and offer that as well soon. Also investing in an airbrush, and will pick up a few blanks from Nik and do some converting. Maybe I can be a cheaper option for people who don’t want to get on JC’s waiting list. I will never be as good as he is, dude is a master… but I am going to try to do my best for people.

I did make masks for a very short time, just had problems with my molds. My Inhuman is in the gallery here on the site. I need to try again, see if I can do it right this time.

I’m painting over them. Stripping is a bit much for me, and I don’t understand the benefit personally. The stripped sculpts I have seen have the same detail as the ones not stripped. I understand people doing it, but the risk of ruining someone else’s mask is too great for me to attempt it.

Idk, my copy had s TON of detail under the paint. So I see the benefit, but also yours look lovely!!

I love the look of your rehauls!

I stripped the paint from mine, and while I did see more detail, it also damaged the latex in small little places.
