NAG/2K KIRK conversion for Kris (TheShapeShifter)

Unreal James! :open_mouth: This may just make me hang onto the 2K Myers and have you breath new life into it (though it wonā€™t have the magic eyecuts of yours) :frowning: Very cool mask and big congrats to you Kris! I would have done the same thing my friend :drinkers:

Sure you donā€™t have a ā€œpromoā€ 2k instead of proto? Nik sold several pre-production ā€œpromoā€ pieces in the classifieds awhile back and those were the copies, I alluded to that were closer to the Classic75 sculpt. Nik gave the 2k Kirk proto to Colin Mayne for converting 2kā€™s for his limited run of 5, 2k Myers (only 3, 2k Myers ended up selling). Colin later sold his 2k Kirk proto to a private collector for over $6k. I know limited runs suck as I, myself have missed out on picking up particular collectibles when they were first offered only to have to pay through the teeth to acquire one second hand, but at the end of the day keeping pieces limited prevents posts from becoming a dime a dozen. Then again, Shat conversions sell for over $1500-$2500 regularly and they are far from limited. I can only imagine the value of a Shat conversion had Justin kept the Shat limited to 10 copies like I initially proposed

You finally jumped in on converting that cool piece. Gonna be great seeing some new worn shots Kris
James just transformed that 2K into a 3K Myers

This was a listing from late last year and it said proto, Iā€™m sure of it. It was already converted as well (though Iā€™m fixing the eye cuts and re-painted it). He had a Classic 75, JA75, MMK original mold H2, MMK original mold H1, and a few other masks in that listing.

MMKā€™s are $500, which is a price that makes them more exclusive, but also more affordable, so a price like that would work for the more exclusive pieces in my opinion; but a dime a dozen is fine with me, Iā€™m not a collector in the sense of someone buying art pieces, or wanting something for exclusivity, but in the sense I just buy what I like because I like it. The more people that can get joy with a mask purchase the better in my eyes, but I can definitely understand not wanting them to be mass produced or close to it sort of non-exclusive. More RareRā€™s, 2Kā€™s, DB IIā€™s, and KH/DWā€™s for all collectors though I say (and I donā€™t mean that in a realistic sense that we ever will see that)!

Oh ok, I remember Nik had a 2k Myers proto that was from an earlier ā€œpromoā€ mold and that must have been the copy you picked up. The ā€œpromoā€ pieces are still very very nice masks, IMO. Would love to see your copy once you get the eyes sorted out to your liking!

Awesome Jamesā€¦Congrats Kris.

Probably my fav H1

James, your paint and hair work looks great on each and every mask you redo, but your consistency with the eye cuts truly amazes me. Iā€™m no artist by any means, but to me the eyes are what really makes or breaks a myers mask. This one turned out really nice and I canā€™t wait to see the pics Kris produces with this mask. Congratulations, man.

As usual, kick ass conversion James, man you bring every mask to life, with that magic touch of yoursā€¦Dean

:open_mouth: :open_mouth: I have so wanted to see a 2k converted and the outcome is incredible.
Prob one of the best H1s Iā€™ve ever seen

:drinkers:

Great job James!!! And congrats Kris!!! That thing couldnā€™t have turned out any better than that! Donā€™t ever let it go my friend! :sunglasses: :drinkers:

Looking at the mask and the Classic 75 they are pretty much the same, so i have to wonder if the 2K proto promo was the basis for the Classic 75. I snapped a pic of it next to a few other masks of mine as Iā€™ve been fixing all of their eyecuts; their hair and paint jobs arenā€™t final and I still need to trim the NMM 78ā€™s neck (the H2SM and 2K protoā€™s hair came out much darker than I wanted), and they arenā€™t on proper stands, but from left to right Madman 78, 75K old mold, 2K proto, new mold MMK, H1 converted H2SM, and unhaired NMM 78.

The only thing the final mold 2K is missing to keep it from perfection is that little corner lip bump that the Shat/Creep, MMKā€™s, Vintage 75ā€™s, new H2SMā€™s, and NHKā€™s have. Once again congratulations on your mask, no doubt if you ever needed the money you could make a massive profit off of it, but thatā€™s a lifetime keeper for sure.

Iā€™ve been looking forward to this for quite a while and it looks incredible! Hero all day long!    -Tom

Pure sickness man! :open_mouth:  :drinkers:

Itā€™s amazing you never get tired of converting Myers Masks :open_mouth: Your a machine with Myers blood coursing through your veins :axe:

WOW! What a great piece all around!! Love it.

Itā€™s HERE!! Better pics to comeā€¦possibly this evening  Hereā€™s a quick bathroom shot. Nothing fancy about the lighting or effort, but it still looks incredible and that is a testament to work that went into this mask. James revolutionized conversions for me with this mask. The eyes and hairline are beyond top notch, and as if he could read my mind he captured the paint scheme I envisioned to a ā€œTā€. Thanks once again!

Wow Kris that shot alone shows the awesomeness of this piece :open_mouth:  Very nice!

Has a real close look to ā€œThe Hallway Sceneā€ in that shot,Kris.

Just proves how solid the mask is. No light effects or camara tricks.

Oh my goodness, looks even better in that casual shot.
