As most of you know, this NAG 2K belongs to my buddy Kris (TheShapeShifter) I have been excited about doing this on up for quite some time now, and have enjoyed every minute of it! Kris wanted smaller, unworn style eye cuts… dark Kirk like hair… and some ragged post H1 finishing. I am extremely happy with this one!!! I know that I’m no match for Kris’ worn shots… so I said to myself “why even try?!” But this mask must be worn to get the full effect, so I let my wife throw it on for some quick shots, and I do mean “QUICK” shots! I will let Kris deliver the “real goods” with his photos once he gets it back. For the record… this is the mask that I would love to call my own… and hang onto forever! This is what I see when I watch H1.
Thanks for checking it out everyone!.. and thank you again Kris for this epic opportunity!
Wow! Nice work James. And huge congrats to Kris. Way to go man. I still can’t believe how much that mask costs though. And then to send it out and pay more to have it converted is crazy.
Man,I always salute someone who has the nerve to convert a rare, high end Kirk. It’s always so great to see the end result. This came out beautiful and makes one mean Myers!!Great job on this one front to back,James. The eye cuts look perfect for this sculpt.Congratulations,Kris.This one is a stunner
Wow, never thought I would see this happen. Don’t know if I could go through with it lol. This was interesting indeed! Much respect for the both of you. Turned out wonderful! Congratulations Kris.
James the end result exceeded my expectations! The 2k was already a wicked piece in Kirk form, but your conversion has taken it to the next level. I see so many screen cap opportunities with this mask that I’m salivating with anticipation to slip it over my noggin. I know you were apprehensive about tackling this project, but in the end, I trust no one more than you. I’m a fan of yours for life. Thanks again! And thank you everyone for the compliments. Hopefully I can work some costume magic when it arrives!
James, you did a hell of a number on this one. Like others said, I don’t know if I could’ve gone through with it. It looks great though and congrats to Kris on the “makeover” coming back in the mail.
There’s no doubt that this is a special piece… No doubt in my mind at all! This thing has amazing detail! An absolutely fantastic job on this 2K, James!
The original run of 2k Kirks were limited to 6 copies (5 production and 1 proto). Of those 6, 3 copies were “promo” Kirks and the other 3 were “final sculpt” version Kirks. I believe Chad (ColdbloodedKillers) copy was a one off “promo” copy, but a handful of non-production “promo” 2k Kirk blanks (masks that were somewhere in between the Classic75 and production “promo” sculpt) have been sold (2 of which have been converted). My copy is a “final” sculpt piece that was supposed to originally be converted and sold as part of the limited run of five, 2k Myers pieces, but it never saw conversion. So technically 4 “final sculpt” 2k Kirk’s (proto included) existed and this is the only conversion of a “final sculpt” 2k that exists from those 4 pieces. Now that my mask has been converted only 3 “final sculpt” 2k Kirk’s exist. As far as numbers are concerned, I believe that makes the “final sculpt” 2k Kirk the rarest, high end Kirk out there.
James thats just beyond fantastic. Sometimes on Myers Masks there is just something missing that you cant put your finger on…but this one has it all. Those eye cuts are dead freaking on…Myers all the way.
Thanks for the info. I have a 2K proto I bought off of Nik from one of his Classified ads and it looks almost exactly like the Classic 75. Congratulations on your beautiful mask.
I sort of understand, but have always disliked limited runs on masks, seems like more money can be made off of a larger run and there’s too much fan isolation. It’s more of a collector’s service like baseball cards are today.
