With the top 10 Myers thread in action, I got some motivation to take some comparison snaps of these 2 trouble makers. And I must say I am very impressed with the Nightmare. Hell I’ll even take a step forward and say it beats the 75K, but it might just be my eyes playing tricks on me. 
No special effects with these pics. Just natural plain lighting.

Both are great masks. In some shots I like the Nightmare a little better. But then in other shots I like the 75K a little more. It just depends sometimes. That’s how it is for me with a handful of really nice sculpts. Angles and lighting have a lot to do with it.
I always preferred the Nightmare over the 98s. There seems to be a much wow factor in a good copy of the Nightmare compared to the 98 that tends to look bland in my eyes as a Myers.
Could be that ones a direct cast off a 75 and the other’s a 2nd generation cast.

I think you’d have to compare two identically style masks to have a real idea… I do love a NM though.
Well lighting definitely plays a big role. Here’s a comparison worn showing much more detail on the Nightmare as opposed to the 75K with brighter light. But I also agree on the styles.

Killer comparison Ish! Man I never thought the nightmare compared to the 75K but it sure the hell does. Very very interesting indeed… 
I’m a big fan of the 75K but recently have been drawn to the Nightmare.
In a few of the pictures posted above, the Nightmare seems to resemble Shatner a bit more. This could be due to lighting, the paint style and the way in which the mask falls on the stand.
I think it all depends on which version of the Nightmare and 75K are used for comparison. This looks like a NAG Nightmare reshaped and an old mold 75K. The 75K looks a bit more like a stuffed Kirk and has Kirk eyes, but less detail. The Nightmare reshaped has more of a worn look to it, and has more detail, but has molded in eyes. I think that copy of the Nightmare reshaped looks a little better overall though.
Considering that there are a bunch of different versions and re-tools of the Nightmare (the standard medium Nightmare/Nightstalker/Nightwatcher, the small original mold Nightmare, Rarer, Mint 75, Nightmare Unlimited, Legendary 75, Nightmare reshaped) and the 75K (old mold, new mold, proto mold, Castle, supreme), there are all sorts of ways to compare the two “lines” if you will.
Well said. What we call the Nightmare and the 75k isn’t just one mask, it’s several variants of the same mould. So for it to be a fair comparison you would need to identify the particular variants those masks are. I believe the mask in this thread is actually a Nightmare Unlimited, with the old mould 75k.

I should have known it was an Unlimited by the smaller eyecuts. I’ve been waiting to hear from Nik as this is one of the few H1’s or Kirks that I want (and the only one I can afford right now).
For the price you can’t go wrong. I notice a lot of people voting for it in the top 10.
Should also have NAG nightmare in the subject. After all it is mostly Justin’s work. Not exactly a nik mask.
