NAG/AHG H78 ("GoBears04" Edition)

I recently scored a mask that I’ve been after for YEARS! This particular copy of the H78, formerly owned by Jason D./“GoBears04”, can be largely credited with popularizing the Kirk-to-Myers approach in creating an authentic replica of the original Michael Myers mask. It was this mask that put the H78 on the map as a top replica and, at the time, THE most sought after H1 replica in the community.

This mask inspired so much and it’s nothing short of an honor to own it. Jason’s original thread on this mask no longer exists; however, I included below a few of his pictures that are sure to bring back some memories for the senior members!

Enjoy, guys!

As promised, on with a few of Jason’s shots!

Congrats on a milestone score! It really is a beast of an H78!

   There it is!!! A historical mask from the indy Myers mask hobby. Would you say this kirk was the first converted mask in the hobby? Great score Frankie.

Nice… Makes me miss my H78. Whatever happened to Jason D?

Sweet score and what a historical beauty.

There’s been many H78s (and other masks) that have surpassed this one but this one will always hold a special place on this board. When it was first revealed, there is no denying the stir it created! Nice pick up Frankie.

Historical congrats Frankie! :drinkers:
That is an awesome copy! I love seeing pieces like this! Keep that sucker dude

Myers mask history. Great score man!!!

Nice one Frankie!
I know you always digged this copy.
Big congrats man :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

Love that mask brother. I remember seeing jimmy with it back at monster mania years ago. I love he h78s always a gem to have. I’ll never sell mine

Thanks for stopping by with the nice comments, guys!

No, it’s not the first Kirk-to-Myers conversion on a replica. Mike did a couple Stardate 78 conversions back in 2005/2006 and I’m sure there were a few other artists who had done it on the down low before that; however, it was this mask that really made popular the Kirk-to-Myers approach. Additionally, it was Mike’s early work that started the idea for artists to specialize in finishing work. Before this mask, if one wanted a NAG H78 Myers, they’d just order it from Nik directly. Since Mike’s early conversion work, other artists have taken up the trade and thankfully, we now have several SOLID options available to us when it comes to mask finishing.

This one of those masks that left a large impact on me. So happy for you! A great feeling I’m sure.

A question for you. What’s the thickness of this mask? The H78 is a 24" mask but a few copies appears smaller, or slimmer in size to me and I can’t help thinking my own mask looks larger.

Classic mask. …great pick up frankie. …a lot of history with this mask

Thanks for stopping by, Mark.

Thank you! This one left a large impact on me, as well. Though it’s kinda dated at this point, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to nab it!

This is I’d say a medium thickness mask. It’s on the large side, probably around 25".

Hmmm… maybe they’re all 25" then as I recall Nik telling me there is only one size and is a 24" sized mask. But if the H78 is a 25" mask it would make sense because Justin Mabry told me that the Psycho is 24" measured on the outside even, and to me the H78 seems larger.

Again, big congrats on this classic replica!

Huge Congrats! I wonder how many of us sat in awe over this particular mask? I know I did! Like seeing an old friend again, Kudos bro!

Congratulations Frankie!

That’s a nice looking mask you have there!

I remember seeing this copy a few years ago before I ever joined when I was going through old threads looking at various masks. Still a great looking piece.
