Hello, I hear that the original color of the coveralls used in the 1978 film were “Olive Wood green.” I am wanting to buy a pair to land that 78 look. My question to my fellow Myers fans is this. Is Olive Green and Olive Wood Green the same color? I notice some people list the color as Olive green while others list it as Olive Wood green!! Is there a difference or are they the same color?! Really need a definite answer!! To me the colors look the same being Olive green and Olive Wood green. Are they the same or different colors? Thank you guys!!
You’ll want a grey pair
I say Charcoal is your best bet. The Charcoal color itself is made up of blues, greens etc. So lighting manipulates the color of them tremendously to different shades of green, blue, grays etc just like you see on the hero pair.
These are the closest you can get the the 78 coveralls in my opinion.

Here’s what grey big Mac’s look like (pocket has been altered):
Those look awesome! they are a terrific color for Halloween 1 and 2
Roebucks are a good alternative, they pop up chap on ebay from time to time. The seller listed these as green,
but they look dark grey with green hues. they look close to the school scene
Agreed, I have a good old grey pair of Roebucks myself. The pocket is all but identical. The only thing that bugs me is that the collar has a snap, and not a button, but that can be overlooked.
Noone will notice that, but if you really like them/ want to change them it would be cheap.
If you take them to a sewing/alteration place they can put on a button/sew a button hole for cheap.
The original had a “donut hole” brass jean button. I got some brass jean buttons from the sewing section of the dollar store.
It comes with the tool, you just whack it with a hammer. I learned how to sew a buttonhole by hand from a youtube video
Oh no I agree. No one would see that, especially in a dark environment. It would just be for me anyway.
