Topic: U.P.S
This is a Topic relating to a broken plaster mold of mine “Diablo Mold”. It was shattered into 30 or more pieces by a UPS worker whom I witnessed, slammed my box on the back of the truck while delivereing (Written in BIG-RED “Fragile Delivery” mine you).
Anyways I’m writing this to inform anyone shipping a mold of any kind, or mask to your fellow members or for yourself.
Masks can melt in the heat inside a box, or your box may even be damaged ruining an item, or your item may fall out of a box.
Well UPS picked up my damaged mold for inspection 3 weeks ago, it is sitting at the UPS inspections (which is 2,000 miles away from me). I’m still waiting for word on how much they are giving me back for the damage if anything.
ON TOP of this, they don’t want to give me MY property back! UNLESS I PAY TO HAVE IT SHIPPED BACK TO MYSELF AGAIN - this time from inspections — how many times do they want me to pay them it was $60 to ship last time and they broke my item, now they want me to pay $60 to have my broken item shipped from their INSPECTIONS!!! Come on.
Here the manager’s email to me:
QUOTE:
"Hello, Mr. Dela Torre, we have the item here at our store right now. It is
standard UPS operating procedure to return the item to the point of origin
after inspection, I do not know why. We can send you the item again, but the
shipping cost would be your responsability. I would suggest that you have us
repack the item to avoid further damage during re-shipment to you, especially
if you are going to try and salvage it. As of now, I have not heard from the
UPS claim people in regards to the result of the damage inspection. I will
make the effort to call them today and get back to you with what I find out.
Regards,
Eric DeLac
The UPS Store #1208"
END QUOTE.
I called the manager and he said if people dont **pay to have their items re-delivered from the Inspections Offices, they keep your property or just throw it away. So it looks like I have to cough up another $60 to have my broken stuff sent back to me or they just ‘toss’ my mold. (I know it’s broken, but it’s my property and i want it back free at their cost - not mine).
So I hope this gives you ALL, a better idea on what options to choose on shipping anything wether it be USPS, UPS FED-EX (BEware and learn all the policies, before any company Abuses your property without proper care). Moreover, no matter how much you pay for insurance as i did, they still get to decide on whether to give you your money back or Not - Which I have not a penny. I can easily say this is the last time I ever deal with UPS, and hope all you can take this information and decide on better for yourselves also.
Have A Great weekend Everyone,
D.T.
