Never Shipping UPS... EVER. AGAIN.

Topic: U.P.S

This is a Topic relating to a broken plaster mold of mine “Diablo Mold”. It was shattered into 30 or more pieces by a UPS worker whom I witnessed, slammed my box on the back of the truck while delivereing (Written in BIG-RED “Fragile Delivery” mine you).

Anyways I’m writing this to inform anyone shipping a mold of any kind, or mask to your fellow members or for yourself.
Masks can melt in the heat inside a box, or your box may even be damaged ruining an item, or your item may fall out of a box.

Well UPS picked up my damaged mold for inspection 3 weeks ago, it is sitting at the UPS inspections (which is 2,000 miles away from me). I’m still waiting for word on how much they are giving me back for the damage if anything.

ON TOP of this, they don’t want to give me MY property back! UNLESS I PAY TO HAVE IT SHIPPED BACK TO MYSELF AGAIN - this time from inspections — how many times do they want me to pay them it was $60 to ship last time and they broke my item, now they want me to pay $60 to have my broken item shipped from their INSPECTIONS!!! Come on.

Here the manager’s email to me:

QUOTE:

"Hello, Mr. Dela Torre, we have the item here at our store right now. It is
standard UPS operating procedure to return the item to the point of origin
after inspection, I do not know why. We can send you the item again, but the
shipping cost would be your responsability. I would suggest that you have us
repack the item to avoid further damage during re-shipment to you, especially
if you are going to try and salvage it. As of now, I have not heard from the
UPS claim people in regards to the result of the damage inspection. I will
make the effort to call them today and get back to you with what I find out.

Regards,

Eric DeLac
The UPS Store #1208"

END QUOTE.

I called the manager and he said if people dont **pay to have their items re-delivered from the Inspections Offices, they keep your property or just throw it away. :open_mouth: So it looks like I have to cough up another $60 to have my broken stuff sent back to me or they just ‘toss’ my mold. (I know it’s broken, but it’s my property and i want it back free at their cost - not mine).

So I hope this gives you ALL, a better idea on what options to choose on shipping anything wether it be USPS, UPS FED-EX (BEware and learn all the policies, before any company Abuses your property without proper care). Moreover, no matter how much you pay for insurance as i did, they still get to decide on whether to give you your money back or Not - Which I have not a penny. I can easily say this is the last time I ever deal with UPS, and hope all you can take this information and decide on better for yourselves also.

Have A Great weekend Everyone,
D.T.

WOW :open_mouth:

speechless

I never ship UPS b/c I’ve been through this crap before…

This right here should be a warning sign.

From a MANAGER? He doesn’t know why? You would think managers would be in the know.

“Hello, Mr. Dela Torre, we have the item here at our store right now. It is

after inspection, I do not know why.

File a complaint with the BBB.

Evil Mike,

Yes I will notify BBB, after I learn of my outcome regarding any insurance they are refunding me. Still waiting.

Anyone know of any better shipping services in the world??

Warlock,
Sorry this happened to your property also man, hope you got something in return.

It was insured so I got my $600 back. But it took them 6 weeks to get my check to me.

ups sucks , they are very slow, a bullshit company , i should know i work for them. usps is my favorite

I always ship USPS.

Shipping molds is crazy. I have had them shipped to me and i have had shipped them to others. The only way i have ever felt safe is to double box them, one small box that fits the mold into it and the other that is much larger and full of soft packing material to protect each side of the smaller box. Its the only way to protect them…Even if it says FRAGILE…they are not fragile with it…they will pick up and SLAM the box. I always thought UPS would be better…but i use USPS.

Good luck with the insurance…i have never ever had any luck with that.

Andrew

BRUTAL!!!

I have always used UPS to ship things and although I haven’t had a problem, your situation is making me question their ability to get a prodcut safely delivered. They should work on their customer service and issue you payment of insurance and send it back for free.

sorry to hear about ur broken mold, ups are the worst…!!! UPS UNDER PAID SUCKERS…

I used to work for fed ex and let me tell ya… you wouldnt belive the hell boxes go through. one night i walked by a trailer of imacs stacked about 8 feet high and the person unloading them was just smacking them off the top, letting each computer fall the whole 8 feet. most workers are around 20 years old and just don’t give a damn so be sure to make your packages nuke proof.

UPS sucks i HATE them

when i buy things i tell the sellers that ship UPS i dont want it unless they can ship another way

you would think with thier long track record for destroying things they would have a better system set up to fix it

Man, that is horrible. Just horrible. A great piece of work gone forever, because people don’t care. That makes me so mad. On, top of all that, they do this to you :imp: :imp:

Double boxing stuff is the best way to do it. I’m surprised how many cases make it these days to people without any damage. Thing that sucks is packing materials are always going up and to double box everything almost doubles the price when you ship large things like cases.

I hate ups. They suck!

Yep, the bottom of the packing is so important…LOL, in my rookie days i only used packing peanuts and just placed the mold into the box…Well, the mold went right through the packing peanuts and sank all the way to the bottom. Therefore, every time the box was being dropped on the floor, the mold was being bounced off concrete, needless to say the mold was in pieces :frowning:

All the shipping companies can care less about your stuff you send. They all like to play monday night football with the cases I send I know it.The dumb thing I used to do was label the boxes with fragile stickers,That just provokes them to start the pumbling of your box.You can find fedex and ups on youtube playing havoc with boxes. In the end it is just a flip of the coin whether your stuff will make it to it’s destination or not.Amy

One funny moment for me was when i brought a box to be shipped to USPS, they asked me “IS IT FRAGILE” i said yes…it is…She then took a fragile stamp and then proceeded to ram the stamp on the box over and over…I just looked at her and laughed with shock…ugh…

UPS blows, which is why my heart skipped a beat when I heard KH sent the new masks UPS Ground. Hopefully it’ll get here in one piece.
