Never thought I would say this: tonight I walked out on a Halloween film on first viewing

I wish I had that issue of being cold all the time. Im in florida and i see all these kids wearing hoodies, (my kids included) its 93 degrees out people! Im like my dad was, carrying around a sweat rag everywhere I go lol

This is why it’s better to A) Wait til it’s about to leave theaters and no one is in there with you or B) Wait til it hits redbox. It’s not worth going to the movies when something is brand new and overhyped as much as this movie.

I agree but at the same time I do like contributing to the big Box Office Weekend numbers.

Plus I feel like showing support for the movies is how you get more movies made.

I’m really tempted to go see it again this weekend for those reasons, (plus I just want to see it again.)

I’m heading out to see it now. This is the first time I’ve ever gone to see a movie on opening night which says alot about how badly I want to see it

The same exact sh!t happened to me. Found my self listening to there annoying voices and ruined it for me!!

It’s got better in the UK recently, but I hate this kind of thing. I’m seeing the 21:30 showing in a couple of hours. I’m hoping most of the annoying types will be in the pub at that time on a Friday night

Same here man. My second viewing 9:40 showing some fucking idiots has a 4-5 year old in there. And they don’t get it…they’re the type of idiots in the movie getting killed! Lmfao

I’m specifically hitting an early show today to avoid the crowds.

I am so sorry to hear about your experience with this. That f***in sucks. I am glad to hear you left when you did, because I would have probably stayed because like you said, you’d been waiting for months where they were clearly just out for a late night with friends. I know if I stayed at that, my whole experience would sour my thoughts on the movie as a whole. I hope that you get to watch it in a much more rad environment than that when you watch it all, dude.

It makes me really angry yet I hope it spurs more movie theaters, not just higher end ones (I’m thinking of the Arclights in LA or the Alamo Drafthouses) to seriously just kick people out if they’re causing a disturbance like that. I guarantee you weren’t the only ones annoyed with it. For what you pay for movie tickets these days not including food/drinks, I think they should be doing that at as many theaters as would allow it.

Definitely understand where you’re coming from… When you go to the movies you always run the risk of having to deal with those people that are very self centered, disrespectful, inconsiderate, and pretty much void of common sense. I’m not a BIG Cinema goer in the first place (I go maybe once or twice a year on average, sometimes not at all) but when I DO decide to go to the Theater, I want to enjoy the experience… Sometimes I feel like it’s some peoples sole mission to make that very difficult for me. There have been plenty of times where I was annoyed with someone, or a group of people while in a movie theater, but these two really stick out in my mind.

I remember going to see The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, and there was a man (Probably in his 30’s) who’s phone kept ringing… It rang like 3-4 times throughout the course of the film, and not only did he choose NOT to put it on vibrate, he thought it was necessary to answer every one of those calls ranging from about a 1.5 to 3 minutes each… He sounded like he was just casually chatting with a buddy as if this was something he commonly did in situations like that. It was insane to me at the time, but as ridiculous as is sounds, it seems things like that are much more commonplace today 15 short years later then they were even back then.

I also remember when I saw Batman Begins and there was annoying stoner BFGF couple between 17-19 years old sitting behind me. They kept laughing, whispering and snickering throughout the entire film, and I literally mean THE ENTIRE FILM. It got to the point where I, and a couple of other people SHHHH’ED them, and they would quiet down for a short period of time, then continue like nothing had ever happened. It was so bad that I pretty much decided I didn’t care to go to the movies anymore… Then RZ H-1 came out, LOL!

Luckily, I sat between 2 quiet groups last night during Halloween (2018), and the rest of the theater wasn’t bad either. Sorry to hear about your experience though. …ANDY

Yp Andy !!! Wassup bro? Great to see you back.
Yeah that’s why I avoid going to the cinema, because of inconsiderate people talking, on their phones etc… And with my short fuse that’s not a good match

There were a few people who whispered here and there but nothin major. At least you got replacement passes but if ever that happens again don’t hesitate to either tell them to shut up or get a manager to remove them. Sorry they ruined it for you man

The theatre I went to was only about 2 thirds full and everyone pretty much kept their mouth shut so I guess I got lucky.

I genuinely feel for you, if people had ruined it for me like they did for you I would be in a vile mood right now

Yeah I honestly wouldnt have been able to keep my cool like he did. I would have told them to shut up. There was a group of kids that sat right behind me and started talking but when I turned around they stopped. Probably realized how obnoxious they were

You did better than I would have. I would have said something. Just got home from the theater a little bit ago from seeing it. I really enjoyed it.

What’s up, Hugo! Good to see you, and many others still frequent the boards! Yeah, I also have a pretty short fuse, and have little tolerance for that type of stuff nowadays… I’m very lucky I don’t wind up in situations like that very often anymore, mainly due to the fact that I don’t put myself in them to begin with, like you said. Take care! …ANDY

Sadly I had a similar experience when I went to see Halloween yesterday.

It was an early showing (6pm) so I was hoping to avoid the crazy crowds. It was quiet for the most part.

Then right as the previews were ending, in walks a mom, dad, (I assume uncle) and 4(!) toddlers.

The theater had reserved seating and sure enough they were my neighbors…

As the movie starts the kids are getting loud, walking across the aisle, giggling, etc. I look over at the parents, they get up. I was hopeful they were going to shut their kids up, nope…they whipped out their phones and started taking pictures…with flash! I sh*t you not.

I lost it. I told them to sit the hell down, put their cell phones away and shut their kids up. I told them that the kids weren’t even supposed to be there with it being an R-rated movie.

The dad and I were kind of going at it verbally, other people were getting upset because at this point it was loud and we were all standing up.

At some point the mom must have gotten the manager because he was there suddenly.

The manager asks everyone to quiet down, looks at me and tells me I need to leave. I got so angry at the guy. I told him off and pointed out that the family was being obnoxious and that the kids shouldn’t be there (R rated).

Manager said that they cannot deny entry to minors when accompanied by their parents for R rated films (WTF? Never heard of that) because of discrimination lawsuits. Total BS.

At this point I was walking out of the theater with the guy. I look behind me and there were at least 20 other people who voluntarily walked out.

They were as pissed at the manager as I was. The people corroborated my story, and demanded to be seated in another showing at the theater to see the movie or get our money back.

Luckily the 7 pm showing was still fairly empty. So he moved us all in there. We had decent seats still and the crowd was way better. Made a few friends that night too.

But I am NEVER going there again. What a terrible experience.

This is what I was kinda afraid of when seeing the re-release of the original last weekend. I was expecting alot of asshole shit kids to be in attendance disrupting the movie but everyone was EXTREMELY silent throughout the whole movie. Last night everyone was dead silent too for the new one.

Yeah sounds like we lucked out  I never start problems but one of my pet peeves is people talking during the movie. I just give people this look I can’t explain and won’t stop staring at them until they look away and stop talking

I got lucky last night. I’m going to see it again on Monday but during the day so hopefully it’ll be quiet and I’ll get lucky again
