New Case 102-12 knife replica (Horror Express Studios)

Hey all. Just wanted to show off this new H1 knife replica that was delivered to me today. I think my search for the perfect knife is now over.

Just recently, Horror Express Studios cast an unknown knife that was extremely similar to the Case 102 knife. It seems to be most likely an earlier version of the Case 102, or maybe it was just a Case 102 with different rivets. Anyway, the knife was casting and modified, and the result came out perfect. This knife is damn near perfect and accurate to what was used on-screen, and I couldn’t be happier. I highly recommend picking one of these up as there is no other knife replica out there for me that can top this one. Thanks for looking! :myers:

How much?

He cast it off a knife pre-cutco era from the 40s, he did a damn good job with the alterations too

I picked one up too. I love it. Looks really good in-person.

Are these still available?

He has to make a new batch

So these are true/real knives?

No

Awesome

How was this verified?

The information in this thread is old and incorrect.

The owner of Horror Express Studios, Ryan, used a Hero-quality W.R. Case & Sons Cut. Co. 102-12 to make the V1 of his replica. I verified this myself when Ryan commissioned me to restore his knife during the summer of 2023.

Ryan owns 1 of only 3 knives that I have been able to identify as being of the exact vintage as the knife used in the film. For all intents and purposes, Ryan’s knife could have been made not only the same day as the Hero knife, but could have been the knife made directly before or after the Hero knife. They are identical in every meaningful way.

Ryan’s replica is the greatest con-safe knife you can find anywhere, and he’s a fantastic person.

Here’s a photo of me having some fun with his knife after I restored it and before I sent it back to him.

“Michael Montana. And you? What you call yourself?”

Is there any markings on the knife in question?

Seeking advise. I came across this page via Ebay. I have an original case 102 12 knife with cardboard sheath. All original printing on the blade is visible. Printing says …
Chrome vanadium steel professional and 102 12". Is this knife as sought after as it seems? I could only upload 1 pic because I am a new user

I need one of these in my life
