I don’t think we had “seen” a pair necessarily, but we did know they offered them in Tex green, postman blue, white, and spruce. I’m assuming these are the postman blue as they never had tradewears in a catalog under navy blue with a button vs with a snap.
Definitely different shade than the post and it’s for sure not green. Sean Clark still swears the screenused is navy due to his unreleased pics. main argument up until now was that they didn’t come in navy!
I’m still utterly convinced it’s tex green but still cool regardless
I’ve gotten them tons of ways! I have multiple shops across the country hunting for me, ebay/similar sites, in person digs, estate sales, collector to collector.
keep in mind, I snatch all sizes I find due to my business. the individual collector jobs much harder If theyre hunting for a specific size/color/etc
Agreed. It just has to be tex green. Those look navy blue, green, and charcoal grey all depending on the lighting and to my knowledge/from what I’ve seen of OG tradewears the only ones that can pull off all three colors that the originals have been described as are the tex green. It especially makes sense when the tex green coveralls not only photograph this way but also shift color to the naked eye, which makes sense of all the varying eye witness accounts of the color on the ogs.
also I consider the DW story very valuable. he tried on the h1 suit, it didn’t fit. he looked at the tag, went to sears and bought another green suit with a black label that fit him
That’s my first time hearing this quote too, would love to have this as a verified source! I’ve heard the one about him wearing a mask that they had left over and walking into the office with it as a sort of “audition”, but that’s the extent.
I’m trying for the life of me. I’ve heard the audition for the job part as well. I can almost remember the word for word something along the lines of tried on the first movie stuff and it didn’t fit so he went and bought the w&L.
I pieced the rest together with common sense. tried the h1 on, bought similar black label green suit. the w&l being the only black label suit available at the time
He did try on the mask, that is in the making of Halloween 2 documentary, he met Debra, then got told to walk down the hall to see Rick, saw the mask on the desk, put it on, the rest is history
