Just finished sketching this today, I’m going to start painting it tonight. It’s my first drawing in years, but I’m really happy with how it came out. I hope you guys like it. The last photo had tweaked contrast to show the work.

Thanks guys! I’ve always wanted to do one, and recently I bought another piece by Mark… and inspiration struck. I had to try my hand at it. Hopefully I will be able to do the drawing justice when I paint it. I’m not used to working on canvas. lol

Thanks everyone! Now I just have to figure out if I should do the painting in black and white like the original picture or if I should try to convert it to color. That would be a pretty steep challenge though, don’t know if I want to risk it.
And James, glad to be back man. I am trying to branch out a bit. I’m working on a double head resin axe prop as well as masks and paintings…it should be a blast. I might even take a trip up to your neck of the woods one day to get a painting/hairing lesson from the master! lol
You got alot of freakin talent thats great artwork right there. I couldnt even imagine on where to start with something like this i have a hard time drawin stick figures

Wow guys… thank you all for the very kind comments. Especially you Mark, it means a lot coming from you. I’ve been an artist for about a decade, but I haven’t painted on canvas since I was still in High School. I haven’t done a true drawing since 2004 or so, so I went into this thinking it would be merely ok. I was actually stunned by how nice it turned out, now I only hope my painting can keep the quality and not degrade what I already did.
Nice work man! I would say go for the color conversion I think that would be a fun idea! Can’t wait to see what you do with it and see how it turns out! 
I decided to keep it as is… but I will probably sneak some color in the hair and see how I feel about it. But for now, here is the progress from tonight. I’m really happy with how it’s coming along so far, and I really was having a blast when it came to the hair and glue line. Tomorrow I might actually be able to finish it.
