That’s a weird one…it has the 1978 artwork, but the figure appears to be the Rob Zombie version of Myers.
That’s what I was thinking. Maybe it’s so it can get the glow effect? Assuming the whole thing glows & not just the head that is. I love the packaging though!
I think it’s the same pop they released last year with a GITD paint job. He does look like he’s wearing brown, but I think they were going for more of an orange. Maybe it will look different when it glows.
Here is how it looks when it glows, so yeah they wanted an orange glow on the suit.

Jay, the orange jumpsuit is intended to represent the orange tape limited edition VHS set from back in the day. Here’s my set in the photo. That’s the official reason they have given.

Yeah the horror site Bloody Disgusting had a full breakdown on it, but they have since edited their description. It originally said it was based on the original orange VHS tape, however now they changed it to say it’s based on the orange tint of the poster.
I’m guessing they quickly found out the orange VHS tape was not the original VHS release lol. So now they are saying it’s the orange tint of the poster. 
They are clearly just winging it on the official reason lol. Either one works though! I’m getting one.
Ahh ok. Same here. I’ll grab one if I see one in the store
