I’ve been collecting Myers masks, toys and movies for about 7 years now. I don’t collect any other types of masks. But I do have a pretty gnarly Classic Star Trek collection . I’m not sure what makes me so “giddy” over a fictional mask-wearing serial killer… but to me he’s the greatest fictional character ever.
Through the last 7 years I’ve searched and searched for an H1 mask… and though there have been some GREAT masks made, none of them really captured The Hero for me personally. Until the NAG 75K came around. That was the first time I ever really thought someone nailed the original Hero.
I was ready to take the plunge and buy one, until I saw that Nick (Handiboy) was working hard on creating the most accurate Kirk replica ever. I decided to wait and see how those turned out. Once they were available, I compared every photo and video of the NHK and 75K that I could. The two masks can look so similar it’s uncanny. Both are very accurate, beautiful masks… but in the end the NHK took the taco, in my opinion.
I got this last Monday, and I couldn’t be happier. I absolutely love it. I asked for a little bit “darker” look… and Nick gave me exactly what I was hoping for.
I just got around to a few costume pics last night. They were taken with an iPhone by my 12 year old son… don’t expect JC quality pics … and I’m learning how to stuff the mask properly as well.
Enough with the history… on with the pics. Thanks for looking.
