Hey guys, I’ve had this account for a long time but haven’t done much with it. Been a Halloween fan for a very long time. Finally going to get my first mask. Probably my only one for a while. So I want to go with the OG (H6 was a very close second choice).
My question: what to get? The vast number of posts is utterly overwhelming, and of the masks listed around the forum, I’m not sure who is still making what.
I want to get something super screen accurate to the H1 hero. I’m considering NAG, they seem to be spot on. But I keep reading about certain masks that have “screen lineage” or “production lineage” and I’m very intrigued by that. Who is still doing these, and how far removed are they from their connection to the original hero? Are these usually worth it?
Thanks guys!

And Etsy also. Most of those are made to order but nothing wrong with that

Heya! Welcome! It’s can be a little overwhelming with all the multitude of sculpts out there. For your first mask I’d figure out your budget and then search accordingly.
My ones are the H1SM sculpt , initially sculpted by Bryan Hoffman called the Hoffman medley kirk or HMK.He then made variants of that sculpt,he clay pressed the medley kirk face and ears and sculpted the neck.
The medley kirk is an original captain kirk 70s mask owned by The Medleys.
The variants are H2SM, H1SM, GKY, LTSN, DCSM, etc.

I second this! The DCSM is a great piece - I have one finished by Strodes Revenge Studios

My suggestion is, re-watch the movie to be super familiar with the look of the original and then pour though the gallery pictures here,. Check out ebay and any other sales outlets including the classifieds here. And doing that you will see the mask you want.
Hey guys, thanks for all the helpful advice! I ended up grabbing a NAG RK75!
