Newbie Help needed Mask custom tips

Hi everyone,

I’ve been a huge fan of the Halloween movies for sometime!! As we all know this Saturday is our favourite night and I am going to a party as Mr Myers

I’m doing it on a budget though… I’ve just bought a dark navy blue boiler suit/overalls and a latex mask that looks pretty good. But it came with no shading or shadowing. It looks like it’s just a basic latex mould with hair. The eye brows are white and the lips are white and the cheeks etc have no definition I want to make it look more like the mask from H1 or H2 (originals).

My question is (and remember I’m on limited budget) what’s the best thing to use to customise this mask?
What kinda paint would be best to go straight on latex?
Or would some kind of chalk/charcoal work? I guess I need greys and blacks… But I want it to look good and last too…

thanks anyway… I guess i’ll try some acrylic paints… or maybe make-up. Good luck to you all anyway

I think you’re on the right track. I’ve never done any alterations to a mask but I’ve heard of others using makeup and acrylic paint. It’s less about what products you use than what you do with them. I’d use latex paint though.

I’ll help you dude.
Go to the cosmetics section in walmart. Get some gray powder or eye shadow with no glitter.
Get a stipple sponge on the stick in the hobby section. $3 tops.
Work on the cheekbones, forehead above the proper left eye, and the nose. Just dust this stuff on bro. Use the stipple sponge in a cup of water to erase your mistakes.
You said you wanted to make it last, take an empty spray bottle and fill it 1/3 full of water. Spray half a can of aqua net hair spray in it. Shake and lightly coat the mask so your weathering dosen’t run. Blow dry it.
Mess the hair up after you hit it with the same mix. When its where you want it hair spray only.
