I’m looking for a near perfect Halloween 1978 mask to wear this Halloween and I came across this one on eBay (link below). I don’t know that much about high end masks but this one looks pretty good to me. What do you guys think are the best Halloween 1978 masks out there that are screen accurate? I want something that’s really good like in the movie. I have the Halloween 2018 TOTS mask and that fits my head perfectly. I also have the Halloween 1978 TOTS mask and that mask is WAY too big on my head and looks like shit. What Halloween 1978 masks would be best for my head size? Would the sizing of the mask below be good for me?
Thanks for the reply! Are the TOTS Halloween 2018 masks around 23.5-24 inches as well? If so, that’s great because that mask fits my face perfectly. I cannot wear a large mask like the TOTS 78 mask as it looks so bad on me with the huge size

paying 650 dollars for a non in demand mask that retails and is readily available for 325 bucks is stupid. my mask collection is worth well over 10,000 dollars and I still wouldn’t pay double for a nothing special night owl. after the halloween buzz ends you’ll be able to find someone desperate and get one of these for 200 bucks tops.
I feel like 10k is on the lower end of what most of the bigger collectors have on here. mine are virtually all Myers masks and knives, a lot of people here collect stuff encompassing many horror films. remember too it only takes an handful of legit JC stuff to get to that number. my favorite piece is my jc nag 2k. I waited a long time to get it and theyre virtually unattainable now.
Chancing their luck as Halloween is almost upon us. Timing is key. Ebay is the place to do that too because of the vast audience of inexperience it reaches, making for a good possibility someone will pull the trigger on it, even with that extortionate tag.
Oh, for sure. I was just making a joke out of the craziness of this hobby. Don’t get me wrong, I understand the itch. My own collection is pedestrian compared to most, but I have at least $1,500 wrapped up in just my coveralls. Lol. Ugh.
I’m sure guys like Billy and Sean have a couple of mortgages wrapped up in collecting between the two of them. And I know there are MANY other collectors that I am unaware of that are in the same boat.
Let’s be clear, that is NOT a knock on them at all. I’m massively jealous of the history those guys own and get to experience.
But let’s also be clear: this hobby is nuts.

What do you guys think of this MM H1 mask as a backup option? It’s based on the NAG MadMan 78 sculpt and looks pretty damn good to me. Will be way cheaper than the Creep. That guy said he won’t sell for less than $550. I just want a screen accurate looking H1 mask to wear for this Halloween.
I think you could do a lot worse, that’s for sure. It definitely reads “1978 Michael Myers” and has the added benefit of having an indie finish.
It needs a bit of hair styling, but that’s no big deal. If it fits your head and you can get it for a decent price… and YOU LIKE IT… go for it!
that auction is going to be interesting. the madman was one of nik’s earliest sculpts and it shows. it’s not a particularly good looking mask as it doesn’t really bare resemblance to any scene from H1. it’s a mask that’s been discussed ad nauseam here and criticized heavily-somone else owns the mold now so that should tell you how little Nik thought of it. as hedge said you can do a lot worse, but the seller is gambling big time if he’s looking for $550. a good amount of talented indie rehaulers have been posting TOTS Kirks done as h1s those are far better looking and much better value, you just have to hop on them once they’re listed. we are still a good 3 weeks away until you start seeing people pay berserk prices on average looking masks, so the timing of this particular mask isn’t great if the seller is looking for 550-especially given that it’s a madman. IMHO the night owl for sale is a much MUCH better looking mask but I would not pay more than 400 for it. there are better masks for 500+ on ebay now. also if you have Facebook join the Myers mask sales page there are a million h1s on there far better and cheaper than the mad man. there’s a nag 75k castle on there for 400 bucks!
btw a Michael Fadian(mdf effects) rehaul madman sold for 480 in august, he’s a far better artist than the seller with the one currently on ebay. so it’s not worth more than 480 lol. right now there are 2 h78 JC masks on ebay for pretty fair prices. one is an nag h78 for 550 that was already re-listed due to no one bidding, the other is a stunt and im not sure who made it but it’s a great looking mask and its 600 bucks and it has been re-listed about a million times.
The madman that I linked is only at $155 bid thus far with a few days remaining. The Night Owl Creep 2015 that I linked previously is listed on eBay for $650 is the one that I was referring to when I said that the seller wants $550 for it or he won’t sell. The group you just mentioned is ran by a scamming POS named Jeremy Walker. So many people have a story about him, and hes the Admin to the page. Be warned.
