Nightowl Lunatic Prototype 🎃

Hey all hope your day is going well. Been looking at my masks as I’m getting ready to sell one mask but man these old Nightowl masks are just different. I am unsure of the number of prototypes released but this was the one featured in some magazine circa 2006.

Still like brand new. For those newer to the hobby, look closely. This is the Trick-or-Treat Studios H2! It has been modified slightly but this sculpt was always something special to me. It is also sadly a mask I haven’t seen many of these past few years

I genuinely miss this thicker latex and early run masks thar just pop. If anybody has a copy please post some photos! I love basically every old Nigjtowl sculpt but this is a sculpt that deserves more recognition and figured I’d make a post for it

The Lunatic is still in my top 5 favorite sculpts, and a high contender for my number 1. I owned two back in the day, including the only one Justin ever did H1-style. I have pics on a backup drive somewhere - too difficult to locate at the moment. But I look forward to seeing others’ pics in this thread. Puckface owned my favorite copy ever - I don’t recall if he still owns it.

Great Post! I love the Lunatic!! I have got some great memories with that mask!! The first time I ever met Justin Mabry was in 2006 at Monster Mania! Justin released the Lunatic around that time and I had ordered one like a week before the monster mania! Well Justin got the mask finished in time and brought it for me to pick up in person!!

When I look at the Lunatic I always think back to those good times!

I’ve had 5 Lunatics in my time collecting, I actually have been looking for a Blood Tears Lunatic I had Justin do up for me. It was awesome, unfortunately I can’t find any old pictures of it!
I haven’t seen it pop up in years either, I just keep hoping it will!

I currently have 2 Lunatics at the moment

2007 Copy!! I love that the mouth isn’t cut big on this one! It really helps with the look!

The Lunatic is a great mask! I didn’t find out until later how the TOTS masks are mostly Justin’s indie sculpts mass produced but it really made me happy for Justin, how his work is now recognized and available worldwide! I have an H4 Poster mask and H2 V1 painted to look like the Maniac and Lunatic, my 2 favorite masks ever!
