Regarding the comic book thing, the ,70’s was coming right off the era where comic books were considered degenerate and something that “destroys the youth of America” and so a lot of parents bought into that notion, specifically when Frederick W wrote the book seduction of the innocent which flat out says comic books cause “everything that’s wrong with the youths including rebelliousness, homosexuality, murder, and drugs”. Needless to say the guy ruined comics for years and partly the reason the comics code of authority was created
