No, it's not "just a piece of latex": ToTS Elrod Refinished vs NAG Castle 75k

Elrod fit me ok. The new H18 fits me and I’m in my 40’s. 6’1. Just have a small head

I don’t even fit the Elrod, and I’m in my 20’s my head is smaller than the mask

Yeah it was probably a little tight, but I had no other mask to judge it by. It didn’t slide around on my head and that’s all I was worried about. I have a 23.5 mask that fits great and the H18 May be a little bigger than 23.5.

Well said

I couldn’t agree more.

They are a $60 mask what do you expect? For $60 they are not garbage… my son loves my horror collection and is only 7 for $60 I can buy him a great looking Myers mask for $60. What would be your guys’ opinion on a Myers mask that is $60 that is better than a tots?

For a lot of us it’s all about the a-hole that runs the company, and the way the company as a whole operates. Not so much the masks themselves. So enjoy them if you like them.

This is my problem with them as well, not the masks, despite their issues. The masks are incredibly solid for the price.

You guys have to realize that TOTS is NOT making masks for us. They aren’t making them for the die-hard Halloween fans. They’re making them for average consumers who want to get a cheaper mask to wear for literally one night. They’re definitely not collector pieces.

I heard the owner of tots once say on a interview that people often say that the masks look better than the pictures!!! What?!? They never do. Justin was with him in that interview

Pretty much this.

Again, this is correct. Like I said on the first page, most masks are created with the intent to be worn by kids and teens. Hardcore collectors like us simply aren’t on the guest list.

To be fair, I don’t like Chris as much as the next guy, but he IS trying to sell a product. He’s not going to go out and say, “My masks are garbage, nobody should buy them!”

TOTS masks serve a good purpose as already said, and for those of us who want a little more accuracy but don’t have a lot of money, they’re a good base to work off if you have the time to rework them. The sculpts are solid, it’s the finishing/quality control that shows them up as cheap masks. I have a stock Elrod I haven’t bothered with yet because it’s way too small for me, but after a few hours work my H2 was vastly improved over the stock finish.

Bumping this because I think it’s necessary. Seeing more whinging and whining lately since the newest ToTS released.
