Oct Is Not Just About Halloween

I think we all need to remember & not forget that Oct is also Breast Awareness Month, :open_mouth:
Yes, I said it. :finga:

I know how easy it is to get caught up in the season. But we do this shit 11 other months out of the year, this months only gives us the excuse to do it. :unamused:

I personally have not had an experience with anyone in my immediate cirlce having Breast Cancer, But I do have to give it up to HB for displaying the pink ribbon on it’s site during Oct, very cool of those guys to do that, since you don’t see too much Pink on a Horror site, Hell Fuckin Yea Guys. :drinkers:

So in honor of Oct, I too will display the pink ribbon in my Avatar, lets see how many others will do the same.

Peace!

Ken

Yeah man, my dad lost his mother (my grandmother) to breast cancer before i was born… if i knew how to put the ribbon in my avatar i would. Maybe someone can help me out??

Thanks guys, Cody

This a great idea. My Mom is a Breast Cancer Survivor and my immediatley family participates in the CIBC Run for the Cure every September. Just out of curiosity how do you add the ribbon to your avatar? (I’m not very tech savy).

I just added it in ā€œPaintā€, then uploaded it to photobucket, then from there, to the site.
Hope that helps.

Cool man, good idea! Like you i dont have anyone in my close family that has been affected but friends of friends have been over the years.

That’s so cool of you bro. :drinkers:

+1.

Way Cool man, I wish I new how to put a pink ribbon in my avatar. I lost my mom 8 years ago to this nasty thing called cancer, it started in her breast, and the doctors cut it out, she did the chemo and radiation and it came back, then they had to cut her breast off, and again she did the chemo and radiation. But it was too late the cancer had spread to my mom’s liver and her lungs, and sadly it took her life in 2002…Dean

My mother survived cancer.
I dont know how to put the pink banner or I’d be right there on the boat brotha.

Cancer is seriously a scary thing… I remember waking up not wanting to go to school, just to sit by my moms side.

She fought cancer twice… and won :finga:

Thanks for bringing the awareness!

I’m so sorry to hear that man, I lost my Grandfather to Cancer, and I remember it wasn’t a pretty site. :frowning:

I love to bang the pink…lol.

Correction Made: :axe:

I lost my Sister to breast cancer several years ago! We were extremely close and she was the sweetest person I have ever known or will ever know! Her Birthday was October 31st and she celebrated every year with the coolest decorations and costumes around. She dearly loved Halloween more than anyone I know, and I mean that! It was so cool because she was 18 years older than me and took me everywhere she went when I was a kid! I just wish she could have met my wife and kids! Man, I miss her… and even more at this time of year! :frowning:

Oh well, $hit happens and it seems as though we come and go like the wind! She did leave behind a son (my nephew) which I love dearly and we are extremely close aswell… and he loves Halloween almost as much as I do!

JC

my nana has had it and won ,and now my aunt has it and is still battling it

but its good to know you guys remembered this month and also mikey reps the pink too

Yeah man this sounds like a ggood thing to do,My aunt is a breast cancer survivor so im all for it

Can someone give me tips on an image edit program for Mac? I no longer run on PCs & haven’t bought PhotoShop for Mac - but Id love to respect this cause as my grandmother is a ā€œmiracle-survivorā€ of breast cancer.

Same here bro. Almost exactly the way this friikin disease took my mom in 1999. After the tumor was removed, things went well, then it came back and had a mastectomy, things went well again, but it went to her brain. I was with her as she passed, and it was the most miserable moment of my life.

Thanks for the kind words guy’s and I’m sorry to the members here who lost a loved one, If anyone can help me by putting a a pink ribbon in my avatar, I would greatly apreciate it…Dean

here is a pic of my mother when she was much younger
