Hey guys,
Quick question. I want to make a Life Size Michael out of a mannequin. When you go to put shoes on him, mannequin feet don’t bend. Has anyone had an issue with putting shoes on one before and if so, how did you do it? Also…where the heck can I get a cheap one
You wont have any trouble putting shoes on, I worked in the display dept in Sears, once upon a time, and the girls in the Dept would always be dressing the mannequin, and they never had an issue.
I googled male mannequin and found a bunch of results, some within the price range of only $100 or so. Now me on the other hand, I think I’m gonna use a CPR dummy that are in my Clinicals Classroom, I’ll have to ask my health teacher where I can get those for cheap. She’s got 9 of them, maybe she can sell me one… Either that, or a simple CFX Armature Head will do just fine. Just gotta learn how to dress them.
As for the shoes, what do you mean they don’t blend?
Dont worry the shoes will bend!just loosen up the laces.I got 2 pairs of hightop workboots on both mannequins easier than putting my own shoes on!
I got 2 mannequins i found on craigslist for $50 each which was a good deal considering there 7-900 new!
Just look around man,one will pop up and dumpster diving behind dept stores should work too if you have the time!
I posted a mannequin wanted ad once on Craigslist and WOW…I got some real “interesting” responses I don’t think I’ll be doing that again, but I will keep an eye out to see if anyone is selling one and heck…who’s isn’t up for a day of dumpster diving! Its all part of the experience
I saw an old dude in Dillards one time with his hand up a mannequins skirt! He didn’t know that me and my buds was eagle eyeing him from a few isles away I mean, this dude was alllll up in that short skirty-skirt He was probably 70 or so!
I can only imagine what that dude would have done if he could have taken it to the bathroom But… in the old farts feeble defense, she wasn’t too shabby lookin’!
