My good friend JD Morgan did this mask for me recently as a special one-off piece. This mask was inspired by the “One Good Scare” comic book written by Stefan Hutchinson and illustrated by Peter Fielding.
I have had the idea of a Myers/Jack O Lantern piece since sometime around the movie H20 (Halloween H20: 20 Years Later). In fact this is where my name “Michaelantern” actually comes from. To me the combination of the two is the PERFECT symbolic mask for the holiday HALLOWEEN.
JD did a fantastic job on this piece. The mouth, eyes and nose cuts are all perfectly done to give a feeling of both Myers and a Jack O Lantern…in other words they mimic the cover of “One Good Scare” very nicely!
JD came up with the idea for the hair to make it more ghastly looking and I think it was the ideal look to go with this mask. To make it even more special he used a very vivid “Halloween-Orange” to paint the inside of the mask. This was complimented by a custom stand he made for me which actually has orange LED lights and illuminates the mask PERFECTLY!
