I have to second k here. The h6 is from the mmi mold… You can’t recast from a mold, cast sure but recasting not so much. Also the thrasher killer etc are from the lifecast, I’ve seen the sculpt pics… you know actual sculpt pics not a clay pour of monster clay and holding a tool up to it pics.
Someone is tossing a bunch of subtle shade in a glass house over here esp from someone who recasted/retooled a Myers mask then sold it off as an actual 75 kirk, then changed the wording and said it derived from a 75k…
Christ almighty. Ethics? Chris is protecting a license that cost an insane amount. The only questionable ethics are those “artists” who think they have have a right to sell an unlicensed product. How exactly would someone stand up to him? On the contrary I think he’s been generous allowing people to continue to sell masks. If you’re blatant and overly promoting yourself and you get a just and legal C&D then you’re an idiot.
I usually really like you and your posts but I think you’re way off on this one.
not doubting this statement as the TOTS H6 is clearly very accurate to the film mold (there are key features that make me think the mold came from NO H6 as opposed to a straight-up MMI mold such as the more bulged out eyes), but could we get a source or evidential support for this statement?
To be clear, I ultimately don’t care as the mask as-is are extremely accurate, and one of the models that TOTS offers that requires minimal work to bring them up to indie-level (as opposed to the old Elrod for example), but I’d just like a verification of the claim as that’s extra level of accuracy that I was not aware of previously.
the hair just does not work for H1/H2. It’s even more baffling they went this route when they clearly have the proper hair for it, and the prototype shows the proper hair. If anything, the Elrod and the H20 should have switched hairs. Them there’s the issue of size with the Elrod being so small.
Good thing both issues were fixed with the Elrod replacement, Booogeyman.
Well tbh on the early copies it’s not that bad at all mine has a brown base and black on top it’s not all black but yeah the new hair on the Boogeyman does look better
Also they didn’t fix the size issue that size changed by less then an inch becuase they recasted the mold that’s why the sizes on all the masks change slightly also you do know you cant make a small mold larger thats why everyones complaints about the size is stupid and redundant lol also the Don post Kirk mask was 23 inches it was a kids masks and the elrod has ties too the Don post Kirk mold
It’s incontrovertible that the Boogeyman is significantly bigger than most of the Elrod. The Boogeyman from what I’ve seen is about the same size as the kirk that TOTS offers. The hair on the Elrod is just wrong. Fake fur material which is fine for H6 or H20, but for H1/H2? Head-scratchingly odd choice ESPECIALLY when they have access and have used better material.
Also I’m pretty sure they were just trying something different and fix that hairline that people complain about and again it’s not really that bad compared too the early copies like what I have but the later ones were more what the h6 has
