I have this Michael Myers clown prop from I believe the late 70s or early 80s. This is not a “mass produced” prop.
I once knew the history, but wanted to know if any of you can give me more. Internally, it is made of heavy wire,
plastic and foam. Fairly rudimentary. Stands about 38" tall
I don’t have a clue as to it’s history, but that’s damn creepy! lol Thanks for posting this, never saw one before. Great piece!
Paper Magic Group released these in the mid-late 2000’s. I believe 2007? You’d see them pop up in costume shops and places like Spencer’s Gifts from time to time.
Your copy looks much more like the advertisement photos. Makes me wonder if it’s not a prototype or very early copy before the production quality lowered.
Yours looks different to me, puck. Unless It’s the pics, but it looks shorter and the knife is definitely different. I wonder if alenzie’s is in fact older?
I think the Spencer’s version was only 24" tall…mine is 38".
Aha, yeah yours looks just like the first pic. Even the hand and knife matches perfectly. Interesting.
I have one of these, still new in box in a closet (ebay prices were skyrocketing shortly after I got mine many years ago, so I never bothered to open). Not sure if it is 24" or 36", fqirly sure it is 36, though, I’ll check it out later tonight.
I was able to find some more information. This version was made in the mid late 90s by the Paper Magic Group (PMG).
It stands 36" tall and is not the more common and recent version from 2007. This version is much rarer. The only one
I can find was sold over 15 years ago. None are available online or eBay.
Checked mine, it is the 2007 24" version. Strange, it seems like I’ve had that since the early 00s. Still, mint in mint box, and as with most of this stuff, the box ends up being a large percentage of the value.
