Okay everybody… I posted this question before on FB but nobody could give an advice. So here we go again:
We all know and we all love the original Myers house. I’ve noticed the Myers House in South Pasadena doesn’t look exactly the same as the old version back in 1978. I knew they remodeled and renovate it but obviously they need to keep off the original backpart of the building. At the beginning scene in Halloween 1 we all know the FPV camera walks around the house. But there were 3 windows instead of 2 at the right side of the building. Maybe on the left side too. I don’t know. Then you can clearly see a second porch fence at the backside of the building. But this second porch looks different than the front porch. Is someone out there who could post some backview of the original old Myers House? Maybe some productions stills or something? The movie screenshots are too dark to see any details even if you increase the screenshots with PSD. Thank you very much.
I was just out there lol didn’t pay too much attention to the back porch tho, I have to look thru my photos
The daylight pics are from 2015. You can clearly see there is no porch. May someone has some old pics from its original location…

I’m pretty sure that the porch was an ad on by production. If my memory serves me correctly, the entire back porch/kitchen was added to the house to shoot The opening scene. Whether it was needed for continuity purposes or just aesthetics, I’m not sure. Then again, I could be wrong. There’s a lot of false information that circulates so who knows

They removed the backside of the house before it was moved as it was too large/big. Basically went from 3 side windows, to 2 side windows. If you also notice at the new location, there is a small wall right behind the house. I believe this is why the removed the back part of the myers house, as there was/is not enough room for it to fit due to the wall being there at the new location.
