So I just got in a new mask today from an artist and when you flex it the paint cracks. The reason I’m making this post is because this is the 4th time this has happened to me, all with different artist. My question is, is this a problem that others have had? It’s just frustrating to know a new mask you just spent hundreds of dollars on already has a defect.
I dont know anything about mask painting, but it sounds to me like someone is using spray paint, or not mixing latex with the paints they are using. Someone else can chime in maybe, but if you are buying cheap repainted masks that could be why
When I get a new mask I always put a coat of Plasti dip on it. The clear matte finish
If you look very closely at almost all latex masks and you flex the mask, you’ll see the paint cracking, but it will usually flex back to normal. Unless you mean the cracks are large and persistent. Then it’s bad paint.
Could you show us a picture? This is what happens when you paint using acrylic or spray paint
