Paris 10.11 : the LARGEST chef knife I ever saw

Today was such a unusual day !

Since I’m a true crime writer for fifteen years now, I was asked to participate to a dozen of documentaries about old crimes, especially when guillotine (my main subject of research) is mentioned.

So today, I went to Paris to film a documentary about a man who, in 1824, strangled, raped and ate a 12 year old girl.

But since we’re approaching Halloween, I decided to appear on screen… wearing jungle army boots… and a black t-shirt under my Sears… The director did notice my clothes, but she’s pretty nuts too and loves to celebrate Halloween, so she thought it was both very original and fashionable (!).

So, in a few months, a documentary will be officially broadcast on satellite French TV, featuring an “expert” who will very seriously talk about a true sadistic murderer while being dressed up as another fictional one (minus the mask, of course)…

I know, I’m weird.

After that, walking around, I went back to “E.Dehillerin’s”, a kitchen appliance store where, last week, I saw really beautiful knives, in order to take a picture of them this time.

But what I saw was THAT.

One of the employees was kind enough to put his hand on the handle, as a way to indicate the size of that beast.

After that, he took a tape measure out of his pocket and told me the blade is 60 cm long…

A 24" blade ! I don’t think even Tyler Mane would use such a sword !

Then, I took pictures of two other nice items : first, a unusually wide 12" chef knife…

…and second, their largest chef knife on sale, the 14".

To end this day, my darling and I went to the movies.

Joker is a hell of a movie, and Joaquin Phoenix is awesome, even more than that, but it made me feel quite uncomfortable…

Anyway, who knows a knife as big, or even bigger ?

Reminds me of the time I went to a bakery shop in Helen, GA, and saw they had the same knife in RZ Halloween, and hell, I think next to it was a 10-inch Lamson!

Ive never seen a chef knife that big out in the wild. My largest chef knifes blade is 14" long.
A 24" blade chef knife thats the length of the Freddy vs Jason machetes blade
