Photoshop fun for Halloween II and Halloween III

I’m working on these for Flashback Weekend up in Chicago coming up; they have a HUGE list of Halloween stars attending and I wanted to make something cooler than your normal photo to get autographed. I wanted to use the key advertising materials of the time but update the artwork without making something new entirely. (I went to the original transparencies, fonts and ads.) I wanted these very simple and clean. Hell, a 6 year old can do this easily…lol.

Halloween II
I always remember the first time I got the Halloween II soundtrack and flipped it over to look the back cover; it’s white with the Halloween II title across the top in orange outlined lettering and a great shot of Michael Myers standing in a doorway inside the hospital. That has always stuck in my head and is my favorite shot of Michael in any of the Halloween movies. It’s just an eerie shot. The soundtrack was the template and I went from there.

Not completely finished yet…

Halloween III
You have to have the masks on it! I can’t believe they didn’t use that as a key selling point back when the movie came out. Just simple, creepy, florescent masks…they’re harmless…or are they. I used the DPS 1983 ad and just took some of the descriptions off and added the original Halloween title card. Just simple and effective. If only Universal would have done this…

Very cool, Billy! Love your fresh take on these old images. Have a good time at Flashback Weekend!

Looks great Billy!

Thanks guys…
Trying to decide on to whether to use a tag line on the Halloween III poster…several ideas.
-“A joke on the children…”
-“They’re going to kill us. All of us! All of us!”
-“Mr. Cochran, just what is the final processing?”
-“Yes kids, you too can own one of the big Halloween three!”
-“You don’t really know much about Halloween…”
-“The world’s going to change tonight…doctor.”
-“Eight more days 'til Halloween”
