i found an “ok” model for moding it into the green halloween station wagon. if anyone has a large pic or a replica decal of the offical use only decal on the side of the car, please post it(michaelantern hint hint ) im stripping the odds and ends parts now and will have it painted soon. thanks again
ya know, im kinda torn on the color. its almost a “baige” greenish color. very unique, im goin to mix paint after paint to get the color i want. thanks for the help everyone!!!
its almost a military looking color…like a desert camo type thing. im using a 66 chevelle i got off ebay. theres a ton of them on there for a good price. there 1/25th scale and need little mods to make it look right.
i can see this post becoming a “what color was the jumpsuit realy??” type thread, that car is just the same, some shots it looks tan as mentoned above, other shots i get a little green mixed in there. maby if i can stir up some 77 ford station wagon paint colors they used it might help with accuracy. thanks everyone for the pics and insight. i have a ton of new stuff to show and this will be one of them!!
my case and point about the “what color is it realy” refrence… thanks for the input, got all i need and on a side note, im a model maker among other things as well, and i bet if i did a light green in there with the base “tan” everyone keeps saying i would get a hell of a color. i know just flat “tan” is not goin to look like that.
Maurice, look for these colors and match it up to the screen cap as closely as possible. I’ve done a little research in the past and created a color swatch.
Here are some that are very close, depending on the brand you buy. I hope this can help you out. The large image on the left was taken directly from a screen cap of the car (cropped).
I have 2 models that seem to be close enough for me to mod when I have the time. I have always been heavily into models and I leave no model as it is If this is a stock color for this car/year, I’m sure the factory records will give a formula for it. Seems like I have done the research and the color is something like “sand stone”!?!?! This is what my plans are anyway for these cars. We can actually make these state deacals in our shop down to .5" which can be catered to fit models of this caliber. I am very anal about details and want these perfect as well.
