So I picked up the Rubies Halloween 5 mask since it was on sale, and other than combing out a thousand pounds of hair, I have done nothing to this mask. You can see in these pics, while worn and with the right lighting and angles, it is almost spot on for part 5. Of course we usually see Myers from the low upward angle in that film, so those are the shots I went for.
Its actually not bad at all. The part 5 mask looks ridiculous to begin with, but this is pretty damn close to the film. When not worn its very thin and looks silly because it does not hold shape, but when its on, it fills out and looks proper. For 27 bucks, its really not bad at all.
It certainly does look like the H5 mask in these shots. It really is such a ridiculous design as you said. Haha. But if thats what someone wants then this doesnt look too bad for $27. Some good angles you got in these shots man.

Yes very true, I actually combed out a ton of hair with still a ton left. But I have since matted it down a bit with super hold hairspray, and it feels a lot more secure now. The quality of the paint and thickness of the mask definitely leaves a lot to be desired. As is standard for Rubies. I will say my Rubies H4 was a thicker pull. This H5 is super thin. But, I won’t totally knock them, because these H1, H4 and H5 masks are worlds better than whatever the hell that whacked out looking crap was they had out a few years back.
In the end, while Rubies did decent enough, I would love for TOTS to get a run with 4 and 5. I never hesitate to pay full price for a TOTS mask, because I know I am getting my money’s worth. I know a lot of folks hate the H5 mask, and probably the movie too, but I am one of those few fans who has a soft spot in my heart for it. It’s just so out of place and in its own little world, and oddly enough I love the soundtrack! What a weird ass movie!But it still does not make my top 3.
To be perfectly frank, I hate rubies. The fact they own the license for the h1 mask and not an actually good mass product company like tots is insulting.
Regardless that is a good find for the price (although eyebrows are totally off).
It doesn’t look bad from these pictures you posted. It would be great if TOTS got the liecene for Part 4 & 5 to make them more screen accurate. I for one don’t mind the mask from 5, since it looks more sinister on Michael than it did on Spitz, LMFAO! H5 would have been better if they had removed Tina and her friends and the Clown Deputies, other than that I’m not ashamed of the film.
From everything I’ve seen the rubies H4 and H5 have been totally hit or miss. Looks like you got a decent enough copy. Can’t be too picky at all for $27! Looks pretty good worn in those shots. For such short money if you like it I’d say it’s a heck of a deal! Congrats on the score!
